ll A scene in Rosie's life - Accepting ll ~ Announcement for Arranged Marriage ~

Seated at an ivory chair, Rosie found herself lost in the music she played through the cello held in her hands. Each note melting flawlessly into the other as she hummed softly to herself.

The year was 1817 and much like in the living world; arranged marriages were very much traditional, especially between Hellborn and Overlords. It gave families status and power to their names.

Rosie was at the tender age of 16 and she knew that she would be married off eventually, but never knew when or to whom.

As she didn't worry over marriage though. She wanted to focus on her love for music.

After about an hour or so of playing, she heard the sound of her bedroom door open. A distinguished cannibal woman in a pale green gown entered without a word. She paused, waving a hand at her cello. Rosie scrambled to quickly place her instrument away before standing before the older woman up-straight. "Yes mother?" "Hmph..first off, why were you playing that thing? You know that you won't get anywhere with that. Music is a trade meant for men. Your only duty is to appease your partner." "But the Queen sings and she's fa-" "Rosaline Bloodlinde! What did I say about talking back?! The Queen only gets so far as she does is because of his Majesty, Lucifer." Rosie sank in place. She hated it when her mother scolded her but she had no choice but to listen. Remaining silent, she gives a slow nod.

"In any event, you have been arranged to marry the Overlord of Cannibal Town and your wedding will be in a week. We have much to prepare for and I want not a word of protest from you, young lady!" "Yes ma'am." her voice was soft but she made sure it was loud enough for her mother to hear. "Good. Tomorrow we shall begin fitting you for your dress and then packing of your things. Until then, you may carry on.." She takes a step forward, but pauses for a moment, "..and be rid of that instrument. It's a waste of time. I don't know why your father bothered with giving you lessons. I want it in the fire this evening."

"Oh, definitely the latter, if you're up for it," Alastor purred, intrigued that would even be an option. Alastor's fun only came at the expense of others; that the king of Hell would seemingly encourage this wasn't something he'd expected. Making nice for his daughter perhaps? Ah, well if Lucifer extended an olive branch Alastor would take the whole damn tree. "I had thought to glue coins to the sidewalk and watch the passerby attempt to pick up the loose change, but if you happen to have a beehive handy...?"

"Don't listen tah' Alastor. Guy's a fuckin' prick who is pathetically lonely and hardly has friends." He supposed that the patrons of the hotel could be considered his friends, to a degree, but he still didn't know if he trusted the Radio Demon. Though Angel didn't exactly hate being in his company, he hardly saw the Overlord, and felt that the one that was closest to him was clearly Charlie.

"He's just tryin' tah' show dominance. It's an Overlord thing. Ah've seen it all too fuckin' often." Angel Dust rolled his eyes, but only because he would know. At least, from his experience, every Overlord he encountered was a prick. Not that that said much, when really most of his experience had been with the Vees. Husk had been an Overlord, so he supposed he couldn't fully believe that.

Which, speak of the Devil - or was the Devil speaking, wow, that was confusing. His eyes lit up at the mention of Husk, a smile crossing his features as he nodded. "He can make about anythin' yeh' ask of him. But ah' know damn well he can make a good martini. It's one of mah' favorites, too. Or a fuckin' killer cosmopolitan." He gestured towards the bar, waving at Husk with one of his hands, before pink eyes glanced back to Lucifer.

"Am ah' allowed tah' join the King of Hell for a drink, or is that just considered disrespectful or somethin'?"

i love pc gaming specifically!! my favorite genre of games is probably survival / resource management games with stories! like subnautica or frostpunk, two of my favorites.
