The Devil and the Child

Taking a shortcut through the alleys, you have blundered into the most private of exchanges: the trade of a soul. An elegant deviless leans against a lamp-post: an urchin perches at the top. The trade is almost concluded, but the urchin hesitates.

Propose an alliance

Getting them to see the benefits will take time

They shake hands

A grubby hand shakes a well-manicured one. The urchin is under the devil's protection, now. He pays you in secrets overheard through a Bazaar window.

A child's innocent face and gift for detecting hypocrisy. A devil's mercy and clever tongue. You may have just created a monster. Will any soul in London be safe?
