DEVLIN : BLUE SKIES

Devilin is trying to save up money to buy an apartment for herself and her brother so they can get away from their abusive parents. She needs (or wants really) about 6 months worth of money in rent so they’ll be set and don’t have to worry much when they finally move out.

She has 2 jobs, but most of the money from those jobs go to food for herself and Duke, or her parents steal it from her. She has a secret stash for apartment funds, but the money isn’t adding up quick enough. She wants to be able to leave as soon as she turns 18 (the minimum age you have to be to actually buy an apartment) and she doesn’t have much time. 

She’s learned to become manipulative. She doesn’t like to, but it it’s to save her brother she’ll do it. She became head cheerleader to woo people and increase her popularity, she kisses ass and is even more friendly that she usually is, and she’ll seduce people into giver her money. 

As for Duke, he hasn’t really caught wind of the manipulating thing, but he appreciates everything she’s doing for him. He feels bad that he’s not doing as much work as she is, so he tries to help her any way he can. He always goes to her cheer practice and stands in when someone is out sick (which increased his popularity by a lot), he got a job at the Freak Show (it doesn’t pay much, but it seems impossible for him to find someone else who will hire him), hands out flyers to advertise the cheer squad or whichever store she’s working at, and always puts at least half of his “paycheck” into the Apartment Savings.
