Hey again! I really enjoy the last HCs. I have another prompt for you. HCs of Devil’s Advocate!Crypto with a (S/O) [Gender Neutral] who has two opposite personalities. One personality is the actual reader, friendly and kind while the other is described as a deadly weapon. A personality that’s violent, sadistic, and a little seductive. It’s only triggered if the reader passes out and the “other reader” is awake. It’s like a Jekyll and Hyde situation but no evil tensions.
[[Decided to write this as a scenario instead. I made devil's advocate a sort of 3rd party to the gang you're in. hope it lives up to expectations sorry for taking so long with this :’(]]
It was dark out, the flickering lights of the back alley was the only source of light on this moonless night. You watched as bright red caught your attention. Blood? Yes but..something else? That red jacket, silver hair, the pattern of wings on his back. It was him.
“ The Devil’s Advocate?”
You tentatively asked, your reply was but a smirk and a languid nod. Not a lot of people have actually seen him before, he was the boss’s advisor, to be honest you weren’t expecting to see him in the field at all, especially not on your mission hovering over your target. You sighed, this was going to be complicated if the boss had sent a third party to intervene, even more so if the boss didn’t send him. If anything the requirements for your mission was asassination, so the job was technically done, just clean up leave.
“ It was personal, I hope this isn’t a problem. I suppose I can leave the disposing to you then darling?”
A charming smile as he rolls what seems to be a data chip across his fingers before pocketing it. You click your tongue, he was technically a higher up so you had no choice but to agree. A curt nod before you heard someone coming from behind you in the alleyway. You didn’t have the time to turn before you were hit on the head with a loud thump and you blacked out.
Crypto quickly pulled out his P2020. How did his drone not scan this guy dammit. It didn’t help that he was still covered in the blood of their informant, it couldn’t be more obvious he was the murderer. A few quick shots and the enemy that hit you joined the other dead body on the floor. Ah, here it comes. The pings of at least 5 other people flashed across his vision as he quickly tried to reload before one of them could shoot. In a split second you were up again and attacking them. Your own Wingman pulled out, each shot deadass hitting their target. Never doubt you with a Skullpiercer on this thing. Within seconds bodies hit the floor. You let out a small laugh as you watched the last guy standing freeze in fear as you pulled the trigger. Thump. The last body dropped as Crypto starred in relative amazement. He always heard of you from the boss but this is the first time he’s actually witnessed you in action, and also he finally understood why you were allowed to work alone on missions. God was he absolutely fascinated with you now. Questions came pouring out from his mouth as the two of you now worked together to hide traces of your involvement before leaving the scene of the crime. How did you get so good? How old were you? How long were you part of the gang? Are you as good on other guns? Could he hire you himself? You licked your lips, carefully answering him as the two of you made it back to base. It feels like you just got yourself into some trouble with him.
A few months have passed since that night and the once elusive Devil’s Advocate has now been hovering around you. Following you on missions as long as he’s free just to watch you fight. His own sadistic tendencies are not lost on you as he has been the one behind knocking you out to fight back a few times. Did it slightly turn you on whenever his hands tightened around your throat? You rather not answer that. Honestly since that day in the back alley, you truly did feel like the two of you grew into friends, he was there to watch your back with his drone on missions and your efficiency was higher than ever. The boss favors you more than ever now and things couldn’t be better yet...you still felt something missing, a longing of something more maybe. You could never figure out what. That was until tonight.
The mission wasn’t hard. It wasn’t exactly a slip up or mistake either. You were doing well and so was Crypto. It was just that no one told you the enemy had their hands on a simulacrum and that the vitals you shot at didn’t kill them off. So here it came, the half robot waited for one of you two to let your guard down and the second you noticed the knife’s glistening blade you jumped and crashed into your partner putting him out of harm's way as the knife barely grazed you. A few more bullets into the robot rendered it immobile before you made sure to properly crush its core. You felt something the past few seconds, for the first time your ‘darker side’ felt genuine fear. Fear of losing Crypto. Dammit. The way he spat out how stupid it was for you to protect him yet look at you with concern. Ah, you let out a small laugh at the realization of what was going on, you held his face before giving him a kiss. You were in love. As you pulled away giving him a satisfied smile he let out a laugh, it wasn’t his usual snickers it was a bona fide rumbling from his chest kind of laugh. As he calmed down he gave you a chaste kiss before signalling you that it was time to leave the scene of the crime.
“ Took you long enough. Let’s see where this will go.”
