Toontown was different.

Celia hadn't been inside Toontown long enough to consider that, yes, Toons too could procreate. Life begets life and all that. In her early on naivete, she figured the parents were drawn with their children. Which was cruel to a degree, those children would never grown old in body and sometimes not even in mind, depending on their Creator.

She heard of those parents who sometimes had to beg their Creators to allow their children to grow. It was the ones that were simply born that had it easy.

But something was amiss now in Toontown…

Sure, Toons got sick but they recovered. Liquor was always a thing in Toontown, cartoon made and that from human world (human liquor had a much stronger kick). But… it never affected the babies before. Toon mothers never… miscarried before (there was no blood, their swollen bellies would simply melt away or some eggs in the clutch would just disappear). Or had toon babies born with the shakes Celia immediately recognized. Or had cute little puppy and mouse faces distorted and damaged from their bad habits.

It wasn't just liquor.

Drugs were always a highly taboo topic in Toontown but that didn't mean it wasn't around. CRAZY effects could happen to Toons but none were ever addicts. Or junkies. Or meth heads and coke fiends. They were very few… but they were there, in the twisting alleys and they wandered at night much like zombies, withdrawing. And desperate for more, so the pain could stop.

Crude told Celia of a popular hospital that was quickly getting trouble, what it was he couldn't find out. But when she got there, she knew. Looking around at the patients on gurneys and some on the floor, without that cartoon glow but melting and smudged lines, she knew. Something was terribly, horribly wrong.

And then she felt it, a shockwave of panic and disbelief, and she followed it, past the saturated toons, past the moans and groans of suffering and straight to the old school baby clinic. The doctor on duty and the nurses were in stunned disbelief at the bundle in one of their arms, the bundle that didn't breathe… because it couldn't, anymore.

Baby Toons do not die. They did not die.

But, it was different now…

And Celia immediately got to work, with Crude as a translator, as she tended to the large amount of sick baby Toons. She does not know what the doctor told the parents of that deceased baby Toon but she remembers feeling their wave of anguish.

She does know that the death of that baby Toon was NEVER brought out into the public. Something about it causing panic, vicious and ugly panic. There was nothing more terrifying than a panicked toon, it was seeing insanity live and breathe its twisted breath right before your eyes.

That baby Toon had a name, “Rose”. The very first wilted flower of Toontown that no one knew about except the staff that day and Celia.

The rot of Toontown was beginning… Of course it would take the young first.

So while Marax might not be in love with Lottie... do you suppose he might be pretty upset if something happened to her?

Oh he wouldnt like that! Like he does like her in a way that makes him possesive of her as a friend. But he does not hesitate to use her for her kindness. But god forbid something bad happens to her - he may actually feel guilty!

Celia, in the Devil’s Roost AU: Working as a baby cuddler and (very) occasional hospice nurse, Celia comes to Toontown after hearing rumors about a terrible tragedy and another incident that involved the dog toon Fliss. Fliss was treated at one of the hospitals she works at and learning of her injury got Celia curious.

After some mild detective work and a lot of info digging help from Crude, Celia comes to bring some light to the darkness that seems to be slowly saturating Toontown. She remembers this Bendy… but he doesn’t seem to remember her. Which is fine with her, for she has come to do what she was made to do: to help.

Bendy isn’t the only “unnatural” in Toontown, she wonders if her presence will neutralize the taint. Until then, she cuddles sick baby toons and wanders around Toontown to monitor the taint, all the while spreading kindness to the Toons.
