it must be crazy to spend weeks or months tracking down someone linked to multiple murders and abductions and then you find him and you've never seen his face but he knows your name and he says you've done this together before and he doesnt want to fight you, you don't have to do this, but he knows you will. you always do. and you fight and he predicts every move you make before you make it and maybe you're not much of a fighter but you've had training and he beats you so easily. he knows you and when he doesn't get away you interrogate him and he already knows what you're going to say. now i don't think ravi ever appreciates all this bc he spend the whole time thinking gideon kidnaps and sexually abuses children. but i know he doesn't so i'll appreciate it for him

it's interesting to see how lucy rubbed off on ravi when they were partners. his clothing and general appearance/demeanor is much less formal because her casualness and tendency to joke around influenced him in a way nick never does as his partner (because he wasn't as close to nick, because they weren't as similar in the first place, because he's in love with lucy and not with nick)

thinking about how similar ravi and gideon actually are.. two people who constantly expose themselves to situations and subject matter that deeply distress them because they believe its necessary and right. their strong sense of empathy and justice lead them to retraumatise themselves again and again in order to save lives and its specifically because they both refuse to back down, no matter how difficult the necessary thing might be, that they always wind up going toe-to-toe. gideon has fought ravi so many times he already knows every move he'll make.
