Emily didn’t know how she got herself in this position, but with knowing her father’s secret and being around him and the Arrow team it wasn’t that weird it caught up with her now, it was to be expected to happen sometime… with the many enemies he’s got it wasn’t much of a surprise. It was something childish, really. Not being able to swim, a childish fear of the water she never really got over with. It paralyzed her, because even though she was trying.. the fact she simply didn’t know how to do this AND not being able to scream.. It was a matter of time before her head went under and she could feel the water pull her down.
She tried to keep her mouth closed, but the fear caused her to scream now. Not that it helped much, the screaming under water, the fighting against the lifeless water – none of it helped anyway. It was as someone grabbed her arm and pulled her up, holding her up in the water caught her to throw out the water. She was shivering all over and not able to respond to his words immediately.
Devon managed to get her out of the water and placed her down on the beach, only to realize she was still breathing. Good. He might know how to do CPR but he rather didn't. He tried to catch his breath, reaching on to her cheek. "Hey." He needed to talk to her, make sure she was really fine. she'd almost drowned.
"Are you alright?" Under circumstances, of course. He just needed to make sure she as physically fine. And mentally too- of course. She was probably suffering from hypothermia but he noticed someone had already called an ambulance anyway. Good, because they could give her a good check up.
