âJust know that you made that decision for yourself and not for meâ Sam muttered. âBecause if it were really for me then you would have let me decide whether I wanted that protection or not. And I didnât, by the way. I wanted youâ
A sigh rolled over her lips, stepping away from the door opening so Clemintine could come in if she would want to. Â âYou guess?â Sam raised an eyebrow, focusing on the other. She knew she was being a bit sharp, but it was pure self protection. She wanted to know the otherâs intentions. She wanted to know what she was facing.Â
âI just want to know, really, what your intentions are. Because I donât plan on letting you back into my life if you plan on leaving me again in the next hourâ
âOh, sure.â The woman couldnât help but chuckle softly, a slight tone of bitterness covering it. âI wasnât giving you the option - I didnât want to come home and find that something had happened to you, Sam. So yes, the action was rather selfish.â
Clemintineâs hues rolled heavily, remaining where she was. She didnât step inside the others home, she didnât feel as if she deserved that yet. âYeah, actually.â Her tone was becoming more bitter by the second, brows furrowing together.
âI want to know what you want - this isnât a one way conversation, Sam.â Arms folded over her chest, rocking forward on her heels as she tried to calm her temper.Â
âExactly. You didnât want to come home and find that something had happened to meâ Sam smiled. She knew what the other meant and it was a sweet thought, but she just didnât want safety. Not over living. She could get hit by a bus tomorrow, anything could happen.Â
She noticed Clemintine was getting more bitter at the seconds and nodded shortly. âIâm not a good effect on you, am I?â Sam stepped back, moving her hand over her face. This was difficult, for she did love Clemintine more than anything. But if the other confirmed that she âguessedâ she wanted to see her and was irritated by her then Sam just couldnât do it. Clemintine would break her. She needed to be sure. Clemintine needed to be sure she wanted to be in Samanthaâs life.Â
âIt isnât a one way conversation Clemintine. But I didnât leave you, you left me. I never knew why, so iâm sorry about the questionsâ Sam sighed. âThe fact that I am still standing in this doorway should say everything. What I want isnât too hard, Clemintine. I want you, of course I doâ Â
wedreamorwedie:
Sam stayed quiet as the other spoke, her expression remaining the same. The apology was nice, but really not what she needed. She had so many questions. She wanted to know why the other abandoned her. âWhy the fuck did you leave?â
It hadnât been easy, their relationship. It had been a roller coaster of emotions and mostly that was because of Samâs doing. They were both shit when it came to this. They both made endless mistakes and stupid decisions, starting from Samantha being a cheat and dating the otherâs best friend, Clem abandoning her when Sam tried to get back, Sam going completely rails to Clem disappearing as they finally seemed in a good place.Â
âAnd why are you back?â
Clemintine looked over at the other, blinking a few times at the others tone. âBecause it was getting dangerous. I do have a job, Sam, and itâs not safe for me to drag people into it. I was protecting you, I guess.â The words were muttered, her eyes narrowing at the other.
Their relationships had been a mess, if you asked Clemintine, it was something difficult for her. Ever since Sam had cheated on her - she had found it rather hard to be open with her. It never felt stable, or safe; so the woman had just left. She found it easier to leave situations than try and fix them.
âI guess I wanted to see you.â
âJust know that you made that decision for yourself and not for meâ Sam muttered. âBecause if it were really for me then you would have let me decide whether I wanted that protection or not. And I didnât, by the way. I wanted youâ

Clarke hadnât expected to be offered so much when he decided to car shop to ask about his car. This was more than he could have hoped for, really. âThat would be really cool.â He replied as she finished speaking, this boyish grin appearing on his face.Â
âYeah, absolutely. Iâll make sure to clean up after, thank you so muchâ
Honestly, he couldnât be happier. This meant that he could have someone else look at his car but still do most of it himself and he would be forced to be out and around people again, which had been a bit of a problem lately. He was slowly sinking into a bit of a depression and he just needed to find himself again.
âSo, this place is all yours? How long have you been doing this?â
Aiden chuckled, walking over to the empty spot. âYouâre welcome. Just make sure to keep track of the parts you use, too. If you need any, thereâs a list of phone numbers for junkyards that sell old parts. But if you donât like doing that kind of stuff, I can help you there too.â
She knew how hard it was to find old parts. It was like a treasure hunt.
She looked around her shop with a bright smile. âYep, sheâs all mine. I was fixing cars when I was sixteen. I opened this shop when I turned eighteen. I had a couple rough years but sheâs doing good.â She turned her attention back to him. âHow about you? Do you live around here?â
âYeah, iâll tryâ Clarke was a bit of a chaotic person, but he really should make sure to keep track of everything when he would be working in the shop. âI mean I willâ He chuckled, nodding shortly to his own words. He just needed to be more organised.Â
She offered a lot of help, which was really sympathetic of her. He actually could use the help.Â
âYou started off really young. That is impressive really. Especially because you opened it up yourselfâ He meant what he said, it was really impressive. Not a lot of people could say they achieved such thing, especially around that age. Then there was the fact that she was a woman and for him that made it all the more âawesomeâ. He didnât really like to be the guy that thought stereotypes and everything, but truth was that there werenât many girls that could work cars, even knew about them.Â
âYeah, I donât live too far away actually.â He wasnât sure if he should add more to his story.Â
wedreamorwedie:
For a moment she thought of closing the door and disappearing behind it. But despite everything that happened she couldnât help but want to know what the other had to say to her. And not just that, really. The fact Clemintine said she would go and never come back if Sam didnât want her there anymore made it all too real. And she didnât want that, deep down.Â
âWhat do you want?â
The woman couldnât help but smile when the other allowed her to stay for just that bit longer - a chance to explain, to hopefully stay a little longer. Fingers fiddled with the edge of her jacket sleeves, trying to piece the words together in a way that wouldnât sound desperate.
âI want to explain, I want to apologise. I know I shouldnât have disappeared - that I should have told you, informed you of what I was doing.â A sigh. âI donât deserve you; and I wonât blame you if you slam the door in my face and never speak to me. But I canât live with myself without saying how sorry I am - it wonât change anything, I know it wonât. Itâs a little too late for all of that. Iâm sorry.â
Sam stayed quiet as the other spoke, her expression remaining the same. The apology was nice, but really not what she needed. She had so many questions. She wanted to know why the other abandoned her. âWhy the fuck did you leave?â

âAnd why are you back?â
Clarke reached out his hand to shake hers, a smile curling up on his face. âThat sounds good. Do you want to tow it here today?â He had plenty of time on his hands, but he could imagine that she had a lot more to do being the owner of an auto shop. Â Either way it didnât matter, he could wait a few days before continuing working on his car.Â
âAre you serious? That is amazing. But I wouldnât want to be in your wayâÂ
It was a nice offer he hadnât quite expected. She really did seem to go out of her way for her customers. It would probably help to have proper tools on hand, let out the advice and help he could get from her.Â
She smiled back at him as they shook hands. She let his hand go before tucking a strand hair behind her ear. âYeah, we can have it towed today. Iâm finishing up this last car.â she gestured to the one behind her. âMy employees took a lunch so theyâll be back soon to cover for me.â She chuckled, nodding her head and gesturing to a small space.
âYeah, you can take that spot over there. Its usually where I do my work on my personal truck. Youâre welcome to use it.â
âI only have one condition. You clean up after youâre done for the day. I canât have spare tools just lying around in a shop.â She grinned, showing him that she was teasing about the tools.

âSo, this place is all yours? How long have you been doing this?â
The moment she opened the door her facial expression changed. She looked as if she saw a ghost, and she supposedly did in a way. She took a deep breath, keeping a tight hold on the door. âI canât do thisâ Sam muttered at the other. âYou need to leaveâ
âSam, please-â The girl hushed softly, looking up at him as she kept her gaze fixed on the other. âGive me two minutes, after that - if you still donât want me here, Iâll go and never come back.â
Lily didnât say a word and merely nodded on the otherâs words. She wasnât allowed to say that and it had been her choice, yes, but also not entirely. She wasnât sure if she should share why she had left with the other, because either way Clemintine was not going to be happy with the answer. A lie would be easier, and oh she was good at that. But as for now, she didnât have to. She was only asked why she came back and that had an easy answer.
âI came back because I love youâ Lily told the other, gazing at the back of the other. âI donât know what I was thinking. Even though youâre not with someone, which I expected, I know weâd never be able to go back to how things were. Weâve already reached a level of complicated before and I overplayed my hand. But things happened and I donât knowâ She almost fell over her words, a light tremble in her voice as she spoke. For someone that hardly ever spoke more than a few words in an hour, Lily was saying hell a lot now. âI donât even think I thought about this. I just found myself at your door, again.â
Clemintine froze at the words, her head turning back to face the other. Dark hues narrowed slightly at the other - she didnât want to hear those words after the amount of time it had been. Her feelings had been buried for the other; they only hurt and reminded her of what she was missing. âYou expected? I was, I tried to get over you - but I left him, we decided weâd be better off as friends.âÂ
âYou donât know?â Her eyes rolled slightly, she was getting more fed up with the words that were being spoken to her. âItâs been years, Lily, perhaps you should try and find someone else.â The tone she used was rather cold, taking another step back from the other. âYou leaving hurt, I donât think Iâve felt worse - I was off my game at work because all I could think about was you. I moved on, I tried to forget about you and continue with my job. But you were always on my mind and I hated myself for still thinking about you⌠I just donât understand why now - why youâre standing here just when my life was getting better.â
âIâm sorry things didnât work outâ  Lily lied, but attempted to sound genuine. Not to get her wrong; she wanted Clemintine to be happy more than anything. But she wanted to try and see if she could play part in that before sheâd step back and let Clemintine be happy without her. Selfish, maybe, but she genuinely cared more for Clemintine than she did for anything else.Â
âYou donât get it do you? I donât want anyone else.â She said under her breath. âIf you donât want me iâm not going to seek further. I donât care about anyone else. I care about youâ Lily paused briefly, but then nodded. âBut if your life is getting better. If youâre better off without me...â  Her eyes locked on the otherâs âIâll leave.â She didnât want to give up fighting, but she wasnât going to do so if it made the situation worse.Â
Truth was, she had really missed the other. Seeing Clemintine again was hard in a way. Probably not as hard as it was for Clemintine to see her, but it was still complicated. Lily had fucked up the best fucking thing in her life and that was something she might never forgive herself for.Â
âIâm sorryâ Lily replied after the other explained why there wasnât a significant other in the house, nor a close friend. That was on her. And part of her was relieved to hear there was no one else, but for all the wrong reasons. It was selfish to feel this way.Â
When the other finished patching her up Lily looked up at the other. She bit on her lower lip, listening to the otherâs words. She forced herself to keep still, for ideas played her mind that could get her killed.  âI missed youâ She whispered, now looking down at the ground. âI know iâm not allowed to say that to you, because I donât deserve to feel that way. But I missed you so muchâ
It stung Clemintine to see the other again, and she found it rather difficult to stay in the same room with her. She had been the best thing that happened to her - and it had been ripped away from her yet again.Â
âItâs fine.â The word hushed softly, a chuckle passed through her lips as her head tilted to the side. She didnât let allowing people to get closer to her anymore, sheâd made that mistake far too many times for her liking.
Words that left Lily made her freeze, her eyes shutting tightly as she turned her back to the other. âYouâre not allowed to say that. You were the one that left - that was your choice.â Of course she had missed her, but she wasnât going to admit to that just yet. Fingers dug into her palms, trying to calm herself down before sheâd do something she might regret. âWhy did you come back?â
Lily didnât say a word and merely nodded on the otherâs words. She wasnât allowed to say that and it had been her choice, yes, but also not entirely. @wedreamorwedie liked this for a starter.
Clemintine tried to calm herself down, standing in front of the door. It had been a while since she saw the other, she didnât want to remember as to why that was - her fist finally knocked at the door three times; before she stood their and waited for them to answer.
The moment she opened the door her facial expression changed. She looked as if she saw a ghost, and she supposedly did in a way. She took a deep breath, keeping a tight hold on the door. âI canât do thisâ Sam muttered at the other. âYou need to leaveâ
She had bandage wrapped around her right wrist and upper left arm. Wounds that she already had taken care of. It was crazy as to how normal it was in their lives to get shot or stabbed. Her entire body was covered in scars.Â
âLike a boyfriend is the only fucking optionâ Lily hissed. âIâm sorry I askedâ It was true that Lily asked this question specifically to figure out whether the other had moved on, but she wasnât going to admit that. Especially because she had no right, at all.Â
She could clean the wounds herself and she was going to insist on that. But before she got word out,, Clemintine was close and she changed her mind. It was an egoistic choice, really. Any excuse to have Clemintine close seemed a good one right now, even though she had no right to want it.Â
She kept quiet for the rest of it. No more questions, no more remarks. Just silence and her gaze toward the otherâs hands.Â
Clemintine didnât say anything back to her, the glare on her face was enough. Her grip on the other had become tighter at that point, before she relaxed and began to look over the other and what had happened to her.
âEver since you left I havenât dared let anyone get close to me, not even my own brothers.â Finally she spoke, words coated with bitterness. The woman was uncomfortable to say the least, but she couldnât leave the other in pain and standing at her door step - no, she still had feelings for her; no matter how much she wished that they werenât there.
Eventually, she finished patching the other up, taking a few steps from her and picking up the remnants of her first aid kit. Sheâd have to get more things for that later - âIs there anything else I can help you with?â Her tone was more professional now, her posture straight as she gazed over at the other.
Truth was, she had really missed the other. Seeing Clemintine again was hard in a way. Probably not as hard as it was for Clemintine to see her, but it was still complicated. Lily had fucked up the best fucking thing in her life and that was something she might never forgive herself for.Â

But I missed you so muchâ
Part of her did not want to heal. Her wounds were a constant reminder that she went off road with her decisions, she deserved it. And Clemintine shouldnât have to take care of her mistakes, that was unfair. Lily wanted to protest about the whole lying part, say sheâd been off worse. But instead of fighting this she kept her mouth shot and nodded.Â
âFineâ Lily said, taking off her t-shirt -whatever was left of that anyway- and wiped some dirt aside to show her wound. âI got shot twice, but they didnât hit anything seriousâ She said. âOne went through. I already took out the other bulletâÂ
Her eyes were on the knife as she spoke. She really did need to be careful. âYou live her on your own?â Lily asked, knowing Clemintine dodged her question earlier. Lily was stubborn enough to keep them going, even though she might not get an answer.Â
Her nose scrunched up, a slight huff mixing in with her breath out. Clemintine looked over at her, dark hues narrowing slightly as she shuffled in place. Once the other finally caved, she put her knife in her pocket and moved closer to her.Â
She rolled her eyes at the others words, fingers moving to gently brush over the wounds. â..shut up.â The two words were muttered sharply, gaze narrowing more at her. There was no need for her to say anything, she was already aware of what had happened - the evidence was all over her friend.
âOf course, what? Did yâexpect me to say that I lived here with my boyfriend? I donât let people into my life anymore, Lily.â That had been ruined for her now. The woman had vanished for a few moments, grabbing a first aid kit before returning to Lily and beginning to clean the wounds.
She had bandage wrapped around her right wrist and upper left arm. Wounds that she already had taken care of. It was crazy as to how normal it was in their lives to get shot or stabbed. Her entire body was covered in scars.Â

She knew she took a risk barging in without permission of the other. After all, no matter their history, Clemintine could kill her or stab her merely to keep her away. That was the world they lived in. But she was willing to take that risk in order to try and apologize for everything she had done to the other. Because despite her questionable decisions and underneath her thick skin she loved the other.Â
She kept minding the knife from the corner of her eye. She would take the risk but that did not mean she would do so carelessly. She didnât want to die, not yet.Â
âWhat?â Lily frowned. She hadnât expected to  hear that in response to her words. She still expected to be yelled at, or be kicked out at least. To have her apology accepted, that was odd. âItâs alright- Iâm fineâ Lily replied to the other. Her wounds were the last thing on her mind right now. She had gone numb to the pain as well as the cold. âHow are you?â
âI really donât think this is the time to lie to me, Lily.â She muttered sharply, eyes narrowing at the other as she ignored the question that was directed at her. Clemintine was not in the mood for her to dodge around subjects, Lily had turned up at her house for the first time in years - and she wasnât happy with it.
âTell me, before I change my mind and kick you out. Or worse.â Her grip on her knife tightened, eyes narrowing at the other. She wasnât in the mood to play games, to have her heart played around with again. The woman wanted nothing to do with the other, but a part of her couldnât help but care for the other that was standing in front of her. âPlease.â
Part of her did not want to heal. Her wounds were a constant reminder that she went off road with her decisions, she deserved it. And Clemintine shouldnât have to take care of her mistakes, that was unfair. Lily wanted to protest about the whole lying part, say sheâd been off worse. @anditsxsorrows
Adriena had just gotten her detective shield and the amount of cases that she and her team couldnât solve were higher than they had ever been. It was frustrating to say the least and with the Lieutenant pressuring her about it, she hardly managed to clear her mind. She worked over hours, she worked on these cases at home, she thought of them when she went to sleep, she hardly got any rest.Â
Her job had always been in front of her social life. Adriena never really liked to be around people and she didnât really have any friends besides Matt. She did have a family, but not her real one. Her parents died and she had never seen her brother since. In a rare occasion sheâd tag along with her co-workers for a drink, but that rarely happened. A relationship? She didnât have any time for that. And even if she did, her walls were build up so high that no one would even stick around.Â
It was another regular day. She was just filing some paperwork about the last case when her eye fell on a name; Niklaus Mikaelson. She had seen that name before, she swore she did. And thus she started looking through the other files of this case. When it lead down to nothing she didnât stop, her instincts telling her to look at the two cold cases. And after over an hour of looking through files she found his name again. It was no coincidence that Klaus was on both these papers.Â
âIâm going to check on a lead. Maybe itâs nothingâ She told Sanchez, an officer of her time. âDo you want me to come with you?â He asked her from behind the computer screen, drowning in paperwork. âNo, no itâs fine.âÂ
She ran a background check on Niklaus, but did not manage to find anything about him in the police system. She couldnât find anything solid on him by just web searching either. But there was something off about him, she wanted to check it out. So why not ask him a few questions about her current case, try and see what kind of person she was dealing with. And thus, she was going to pay a house visit.Â
In a reflex she had placed her foot in the doorway to stop the door from closing completely. Not for a moment did she hesitate, for she was here to make sure to fight for Clemintine. âNo waitâ Lily pushed the door open and moved inside, ignoring any pain in her body at this point. Quickly, but still careful as Clemintine was holding a knife, she made sure to grab Clemintineâs wrist to stop her from moving.Â
âI know I donât deserve it. But please hear me outâÂ
Honestly, she had gone over this a million times and yet she still didnât know where to start. Words were never her strong suit and neither were her feelings, so putting both in one spot was rather tough. Her life, her feelings, everything was all over the place. Everything but one pathetic constant; she loved Clemintine. Worst was that Lily wasnât even sure Clemintine would forgive her for what happened. That and the fact that Clemintine had probably moved on after two long years.Â
âIâm sorry. Iâm sorry for every single thing I did that ended up hurting you. Iâm sorry for breaking your trust.â She wasnât even going to try and make up excuses, or throw what had happened in those two years. That didnât matter. âThere are no excuses for what happened between us. And I just need you to know that iâm sorry. Thatâs all I need right now.âÂ
Clemintine flinched when she heard the otherâs voice. It had been so long since she heard it, and it was something she hadnât wanted to hear again. Fingers were right around her knife, half tempted to use it to put a stop to her coming any further. But she let her speak, she let her come into her home.
She could see that she needed help, that she was in pain - but the assassin didnât want to help her at that moment. The woman turned around to face the other, knife at her side. âSpeak then.â
Her gaze was fixed on the other, on the woman she had grown to love - before she had lost her. The words that had left the other had been a surprise, she hadnât expected something like that from her. But she was appreciative of how direct it was, how she wasnât going to mess around or stall in her words.
âThatâs all I need to hear.â Perhaps she needed more, but for now, that was good enough. âAnd Iâll accept your apology - if you let me see to you. You look in pain⌠what happened?âÂ
She knew she took a risk barging in without permission of the other. After all, no matter their history, Clemintine could kill her or stab her merely to keep her away. That was the world they lived in. But she was willing to take that risk in order to try and apologize for everything she had done to the other. âWell pleasure to meet you Aiden. My name is Clarkeâ Despite his best effort, that sentence came out rocky. It had been a while since he had spoken to anyone remotely beautiful and of course he had to be a typical guy and be distracted by it. It was pathetic, really. but he recovered from that rather quickly.Â
âIâm having trouble starting the engine. I checked everything twice but apparently Iâm missing something. The car has been sitting unused for quite a while, I only just got around to working on it.â He paused. âAnd thanks for the offer. But I have my own car parked up there. The old car is just a thing to keep me busy.âÂ
It was a project to keep him busy, yes. But if they would get the car to run he probably would spent more time in it than in the car he was driving now. The old mustang was a very sexy car he would definitely enjoy driving around.Â
Aiden grinned as the man introduced himself. âIts a pleasure to meet you too, Clarke.â she said, extending her hand to shake his. He was rather handsome if she did say so herself. She was hoping that she could help him with anything he could need.Â
âI can definitely help you with that then. If you want, we can tow it here so I can give it a through look. That way if anything needs to be fixed, I can have my tools and my parts on hand.â She then paused thinking over what he said. âOr I can offer you a spot here. You can work on it yourself after I look at it. I can help you with anything you need.â
She knew how projects worked sometimes. If she could make things easier, sheâd do that in a heartbeat.Â
Clarke reached out his hand to shake hers, a smile curling up on his face. "That sounds good.
