So proud to be a part of this team and the film “Black”. My cousin Devon really really did his thing with the score of the film. I was so proud to see his name up there in the credits. Bishop also gave the soundtrack new life with his mixing. He really killed the changes he made in the song “Black” that I made for the film. I have 4 songs placed in this film that I created straight from reading the script and getting insight from my man Geoff’s character. I would read the script, have a conversation with Geoff, make a beat that fit that vibe, then the words just came right from the dialog of the characters. That was such a fun process to such a serious topic of what Black is about with police brutality and the killings of our black men. Overall, I’m greatful.
