Confession: I only hack my horse out and do minimal schooling. People call me a "bobo" and say I'm wasting my horse. They can suck it.

Let me tell you a thing tho friend

If you are CONFIDENT enough that your horse can be the best he can be inside and outside the show ring without a whole fucking fitness plan at your back, then you shouldn’t be called a bobo or anything of the negative type.

A bobo is an asshole who thinks they know everything about horses and tries to school everyone on it, but then everyone KNOWS they don’t know what the hell they are even talking about. You are not one of them.

I, personally, do not always get the chance to hack out. And that is because

I have none of the facilities for it besides a quick trip on the concrete (we’re next to a busy road)

My horse is performing fine without it

This is a horse I am leasing and his paranoid owner doesn’t want me to go outside of the arena without anyone with me… and I have no one to go with me, go figure.

But, no, just keep doing what you’re doing. If you DO notice a decline in your/your horses performance, then I’d say increase schooling by an honest percentage and see where it goes from there. Hacking out is fun and provides a lot of good experiences for the horse and rider, so you keep doing what you’re doing, friend! 8)

im not really sure why people think this is the end of brendan? cuz they've gone all out by sending him off to dublin? i don't buy that with them bringing in papa brady at xmas time and this all happening round that time too. it just doesn't seem likely. i want walker to kill him too, but i think it won't be for another 4-6 months.
