American Diabetes Association Award Honors Devoted Fathers
Louisiana dentist Dr. Nick Rauber currently works at Aesthetic Dentistry Group in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Active in the community, Nick Rauber, DDS, sits on the American Diabetes Association’s Father of the Year Council. The Council honors men in 35 cities who have given priority to their family life, while also meeting the demands of their careers and their communities. Since the inception of the Father of the Year program, the American Diabetes Association has honored hundreds of men and raised awareness about the importance of fatherhood. Every year, local councils receive nominations and identify individuals in each city who meet the Association’s criteria for the Father of the Year Award. Honorees are recognized community leaders who act as true role models for other fathers. At local events, award winners receive Father of the Year trophies in moving ceremonies, which feature personal family videos. Throughout the program’s history, these events have raised more than $35 million for the American Diabetes Association. These financial resources fund critical diabetes research, along with advocacy and education programs.
