Srpen/August Devotional Calendar
August is called srpen, from the word sickle in Czech. It the traditional time for the grain harvest.
Most of the saints days that I observe are from the Czech folk calendar, but I also keep big dates from my British Isles ancestral background—including Lammas.
I don’t do a big celebration for every saint’s day, but do like to make a note on the calendar of days that were traditionally observed in Moravian folk practice in various villages.
