Thank you for answering! So if the mother has to be han junketsu, then are a they a completely separate species? How did the first han junketsu come into being? Are humans, dragons and han junketsu all descended from the same type of creature?
Ahh – sorry this took a while to get out due to a few things going on around the home, lets get this answer down, shall we?
Difference in species ;;
In the shortest of sense, Han Junketsu is their own species or rather, I guess a better term would be that they are an evolution of humans and dragons. They were not always there on the surface world and rather, were created as time went on and both Dragons and Humans evolved, this is why Han Junketsu also have tribal formations ( a lot alike humans with their social structure ) but also have different forms of rankings, and usually the leader of a tribe would the be strongest ( no matter the gender ).
How they come to be && did they come from all of the same ;;
The only explanation I can come up with that is logical, is the fact that a god had started the gene within a human. A mutation of a genetic that came about with magic being a high influence within the body. Magic and the slow coming of becoming a ‘ were ‘ like creature combined, forcing a new evolution in the human tree.
This also, can link back to if humans and dragons were once the same creature. Technically, yes it does. Very far back in the evolution chain, but yes it does. In technicality, that would mean every beast within Kosmos would also come from the same one being, just branched out with magic, and how that ‘ god ‘ above wanted to see it as.
Take it this way -- the god who runs Kosmos from above? He has had his fun with making shit up as he went along. As well as letting the world rot. Han Junketsu came out of a random spur of the moment, alike werewolves, vampires and other beasts that he now wishes he hadn’t made.
Again, thanks for asking such an interesting question. Sorry for the wait and I hope you have a good day / night.
Are han junketsu looked down on like their name suggests? Is there a hierarchy between humans, dragons and han junketsu? Does junketsu refer to pure human blood, pure dragon blood or are both considered to be pure and mixing pure blood is bad?
Han Junketsu / Ibrida are looked down upon due to being a mixture -- hybrid species that could also be classified as demons due to how much power can be within the top tier of the tribes. Think of them alike of a werewolf -- but, they can control the transformation ( as long as their anger doesn’t get ahead of them first ). And that is the very reason why humans hate or rather fear them. They are, in a sense, a power house if one has never dealt with one before.
When you ask about hierarchy, do you mean in power, or social standers ( don’t know why I am asking, just going to put both of them down here for you anyway )?
In the case of a who’s more powerful than who, Han Junketsu have the best of both worlds, but aren’t much stronger than dragons themselves, leaving little old humans to be at the last part of the food chain. Han Junketsu, while they have three forms ( a human, in between [ more so classified as there ‘ demon ‘ form ] and a dragon ), giving them a bit of lee way in a sense but that is also their down fall. Dragons and humans don’t have to wait for their bones to shift or their energy to spike, they just do -- Han Junketsu have to go through the painful process of changing forms which includes the whole skeletal and muscle structure changing.
But as for the social -- Han Junketsu are on the lowest tier. Dragons, while kicked from society, do not always play nice with their Han Junketsu counterpart. Humans being the highest of that bunch, due to them scaring the dragons and han junketsu off most of the ‘ important ‘ land.
As for the last question in this ask, all cases are different for Han Junketsu. They can be born from either a human or Han Junketsu mother, while their male counterpart can only be human to produce a Han Junketsu offspring if the mother is Han Junketsu herself. In short terms, they have to have a Han Junketsu parent in order to be a Han Junketsu; two humans can’t make a sudden dragon baby but there have been cases where two Han Junketsu have had a human offspring.
Han Junketsu really only means that they have a portion of both dragon blood and a some what human blood. There could be a case where a vampire had some fun with a Han Junketsu and they would have a Han Junketsu offspring. The key to being claimed as a Han Junketsu is that one just needs to be partially human and partially dragon.
[ han junketsu info ] . [ kosmos’ lore tag ]
In short this was really fun for me to write about and if you have any more questions about either the lore or the game in general, please feel free to ask. So, Thank you Anon, and I hope this helps with understanding these silly misfits!
The name is literally half blood within the Japanese language as they are hybrid species between mortal and dragons. On some terms though, they may be called from the Latin standpoint as ibrida.
Characteristics;;
Skeletal Structure.
Their skeletal structure changes depending on what form they take but, the basics is that their bones are hallowed out with a strong exterior. When going from human to dragon, bones will elongate and break to form the knew joints of being a quadruped creature. Wing bones break from the skin at the shoulder joints, tearing up the muscle to replace with the new muscle needed to support such mass as well as the tail bone elongating to becoming a full out tail. Bone from the skull base will also begin to protrude from the back of the head to create horns.
Scales && Webbing.
Skin will turn to scales in a time of crises for a han junketsu as well as when they begin to transform in their dragon state. The webbing of their wings is stretched, stained skin that connects and lays over the wing bones to allow them stable flight. Their scales color are not based on genes.
Warm && Cold Blooded.
Depending on their genetic pool, han junketsu may become warm or cold blooded. This is all dependent on the parental ( and grand parental ) gene pool. This can cause winters or summers to become very harsh for a han junketsu.
Size.
Based on habitat and their parental genes, a han junketsu may grow to the size of mountains or, be as small as a house cat. Usually though, they are in the middle range, starting off at seven feet off the ground ( from paw to head, excluding horns and wingspan ). It takes one hundred humans years for them to grow to full size which can be anywhere from ten feet tall, to 40 feet tall without wingspan.
Transformations.
It is a very painful process. Imagine breaking a bone. Now imagine every bone in your body is basically breaking all in the matter of a minute. While some have complete control of when they transform, others may not have the luxury and their emotions can cause them to change.
Another thing that han junketsu have to keep in mind is that when they transform, they can not immediately jump into action without straining ( or even breaking ) bones and muscle due to the extreme stress that they put their body through with transforming.
Elements.
Han junketsu are very elemental based, though most are only able to master one element as it is a large struggle to do any other ones, especially the opposite of what they were born with. Alike their scales, their element is not based on gene. Instead, it seems to be their soul that has the element within it.
a han junketsu may have one of the following elements;;
Fire ( Weak to water ) are of the feisty type that have ‘pride issues’. In simple talk, the fire han junketsu are known to be the ones to start fights the most within the group but also seem to understand some of the hardest problems that people face.
Water ( Weak to electricity ) they are agile within the waves but tend to be of the more laid back sort. They never grow too angry without reason but when they reach their limit, a wave will follow.
Earth ( Weak to wind) are the han junketsu that love to cover themselves in dirt and explore. Many of their young can be seen being trapped under rocks before breaking free of them, do all to their curiosity for the things around them, giving them a childish attitude at times but they can be some of the wisest of the han junketsu .
Wind ( Weak to ice ) they are the kings and queens of flying and hunting without a trace. They are clever but only when it comes to serious matters as most tend to be not so firm on the ground. Wind han junketsu have a medium tolerance towards their anger though, and one should be careful if they come upon one that is upset.
Ice ( Weak to fire ) the masters of knowing what cold hearts are like, they tend to stay in a less populated area and live with each other. They know how to pick apart a being with their ice and know when the snow storms will set in but are one of the calmest han junketsu to be around.
Electricity ( Weak to earth ) some of the worst tempered han junketsu but are also some of the strongest. They can call large storms with their rage, wrecking all in its path if they so please, they usually are the type to live alone, but some can be seen with the other elements.
If one uses the opposite of what they are assigned with, it will weaken them greatly in the a fight and may even kill the han junketsu if the user is stronger than they.
Light && Shadow.
Unlike elements, light and shadow are two different magic types that are based on the genes of the parents. That being said, both have their specialty when being used –
light;;
used for healing, guarding and enchantments ( better classified as defensive ) but, can be used to blind and burn shadows, and those who use shadow magic.
shadows;;
used for summons, transportation and binding ( better classified as offensive ) but, can blind and freeze light magic users.
Behaviors;;
Habitat && Group Organization.
Contrary to popular belief, han junketsu live in a tribal format and like to stay within packs. They have lived in the forest to the mountains, but they stay grouped together and this usually leads to han junketsu from one tribe being good at something another isn’t so great at.
The tribes are split up into the leader ( the strongest of the tribe ), the healers, hunters, and teachers. Each job needs to be done in the group so that everything runs smoothly, though, the leader is usually questioned and required to fight anyone who thinks they may be better though this may be voided as there can be a tribal discussion to keep the current leader or to appoint one.
Hunting && Diet.
Mostly meat, they are heavily carnivorous and can get extremely ill from eating floral. While they can eat wheat, it is mostly fruits and vegetables that can upset their stomachs. Hunting on the other hand is done quickly and efficiently; they either target from the sky ( when in the mountains ) or hunt on the ground ( in the forests ) chasing after their prey and going for a neck shot on most wildlife creatures.
Reproduction.
Han junketsu can actually be born from a human mother ( or han junketsu mother ), as their gene trait is the dominant when in the uterus and does not cause a human mother harm, as the young are live born and do not fully take on traits of a han junketsu until the age of ten ( though there are circumstances that a child may change early, or later due to habitat or stress ).
Communication.
When in human form, they are able to talk alike any human being would, they have the same vocalization except for the ability to growl deep within the chest and hiss. The problem is when they are in their dragon form, the ability of speech vocally is cut, forcing them to use a telepathy method if they want to speak to humans. The ability to do such is caused by the immense amount of magic that flows within them, and their souls being able to connect to another’s due to such.
