An in - development rpg game being developed by a few first timer developers in game maker studio. due to the game being in - development, there will be a lot of sketches, code and just some ideas being thrown out there. A demo is no where near done, and the main focus at the time is to get the story and character designs done.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GET GMS 1.4 IF YOU’RE JUST EVEN THINKING ABOUT GAME DEV’ING 

This bundle ranges from 1000+ dollars depending on the stuff you get. While yes, Studio 2.0 is out right now, if you get this, the upgrade to 2.0 isn’t as bad as buying it for the first time, plus, 1.4 works GREAT and I love messing around with it! There are also a BUNCH of tutorials and a community that would help you figure out the language and how to make a game within it. It’s a hell of a lot more versatile than RPG maker and is good if you want to step it up. It’s the whole reason why I decided to switch Devoured World to GMS in the first place, because RPG maker simply can’t do some things that you can code wonderfully in GMS. 

Do yourself a favor. Buy it for the 15$ and get on with your game design self !

Honestly? A few things but mostly the fan art and the ships even if there are canon ships already in place, I know there’s gonna be some people who ship characters with complete others. 

Oh, and the memes, the memes && inside jokes. Maybe the fan reaction to the angst will be cool too!

    I am actually trying out different pixel styles and ways of shading -- some of you might recognize this cutie as one of Naito’s side kicks. If not, she’s part of the party and is quite the magic user.

  Hey there -- I know that many do not have Ipads but this is for those who do, and also are making a game ( be it rpg maker, game maker, or otherwise ), there’s an app called MusicMakerJam and while it is practically a looper, it is very easy to make music for those who literally have never touched anything musical, or forgotten how to music ( like I have ). If you want an example of what type of music you can make there, here is a link to one of the songs I made in about ten minutes.

 If you are having trouble with timeline-ing like I do makers -- just make a flowchart on this website. This is what I have literally been doing for the past few days and this website is free and easy to use! So please, makers who are struggling to catalog their story and elements of gameplay all into one use gliffy to make a flow chart + timeline hybrid!!!

if the characters where dogs, what kind of dogs would they be?

        We’re going to the great unknown considering 3/4s of the party doesn’t even have concept art so I will put their in game sprite next to a picture of a dog that represents them. You are only getting the party to avoid spoiling the final bosses’ look.

While they may have different tastes in things, they are biological identical twins ( even though Naito grew out his hair and Nero now wears glasses ). how does the tumblr icon play into the world, do trees with no leafs have a deep meaning to them?

        It’s isn’t trees per say that are important, it’s more so one single tree that carries a lot of meaning when you get down to it. While I am trying not to give much away for the story, just think about how I mentioned Life && Death in a lore post here  but I will also just quote their fact here:

Olk, is completely different than those three though, believing in the concept of ‘ essences ‘ and treating everything as you would want to be treated. the essence of life is honored by planting new trees, taking care of fallen animals and the essence of death is showed honor by never wasting a game they kill, and showing respects to their, and other’s dead ancestors. Not only is it with those two essences though, as shadows and light are also worshiped in their own little way.

       While that’s a lot of information right there, might as well also give you this information as well: 

        Naito, Nero and Rei have been friends since they were 8 - 10 respectively. They use to have a meeting spot due to Naito and Nero’s father being a KNiGHT and used a growing tree deep within the woods as such. Back then, the plant life and animals were both prosperous and fed Rei, who had to hunt all by herself, very well. 

        So that single tree, is very meaningful, especially with no leaves. Will you be able to figure out what that tree means though without playing the game? Who knows, I’m terrible at giving clues without extremely hinting to the answer. It at least doesn’t spoil the story, just the lore. Music Making Resources

When I was compiling the audio resources for the list, I completely glossed over the fact that some people might want to make their own music! So I’ve gathered a few resources that are 100% free! There’s a lot of free DAWs out there, but I tried to narrow down the ones that seemed too complex for most people’s purposes. I’ll be adding this to the resource list in a little bit, but for now, it’ll be under the #resources tag.

Famitracker - Windows

FamiTracker is a free windows tracker for producing music for the NES/Famicom-systems. The interface is based on MadTracker and should be easy to use if you’ve been using trackers before. 

Excellent for making game music, however a bit tricky to learn. Remember to check the wikis for effect lists and how to create your own instruments!

Audacity is a wonderful free editor for chopping, looping, editing, and arranging songs! Works will with a mic and if you know an instrument or two! Also has a range of effects to add to your music.

Anvil Studio

Anvil is a really great for composing simple songs! It allows you to compose on a visually-appealing piano roll, as well as a staff for those of you who are musically inclined. OpenMPT

OpenMPT is a popular tracker software for Windows. OpenMPT (short hand forOpen ModPlug Tracker) is completely free and allows you to create and play back some great music on your computer. Based on the original ModPlug Tracker written by Olivier Lapicque, OpenMPT is free software, can import a wide variety of module formats and offers an intuitive, native GUI as well as advanced features such as VSTplugins and ASIO output. 

Darkwave Studio

DarkWave Studio is a free Digital Audio Workstation for Windows. Featuring a modular Virtual Studio, Pattern Editor, Sequence Editor and Multitrack Hard Disk Recorder. It has support for VST/VSTi instrument and effect plugins.

I’m not familiar with this one, but this seems like a fully-featured and completely free DAW, so if you’re familiar with sound production on pro-quality software, give this one a try! More info on the site.
