#JackedKirby - KIRBY THANKSGIVING PT. 1: GALACTUS... DEVOURER OF WORLDS! 🍽🍽🍽 I figured we can celebrate Thanksgiving this year highlighting one of Jack’s greatest visual creations, Galactus! Considering he is the DEVOURER OF WORLDS, he is basically the comic book patron saint of Thanksgiving! Bring on the grub!!!! 🍽🍽🍽 This image comes from the Silver Surfer: Ultimate Cosmic Experience graphic novel from 1978. Ahead of its time, Jack and Stan reunited to create a masterpiece of a story that ran a whopping 130 pages and was bound together in one edition... something Marvel called a “Fireside Book” that was a different format then the typical 24-32 page monthly comic. And from beginning to end it is gorgeous! 🍽🍽🍽 Silver Surfer is tasked with fighting off his former employer Galactus from consuming Earth. Surfer was formerly Galactus’s Herald, arriving at a doomed planet to inform them Galactus would be there soon to feast. But after teaming up with the FF to defeat Galactus (FF issues 48-50) he has broken free from his master and become a resident of Earth. Vowing to protect it, when Galactus shows back up he is in for a battle!!! 🍽🍽🍽 Gotta love a good ole fashioned Kirby Splash page... especially one featuring the godlike Galactus front and center!
