location: devyn’s place.
characters: atlas williams & @devynagar.
This was the moment he’d wanted since the moment he’d found out about having a kid. Somehow, it was an even bigger deal than he’d originally imagined it to be. He’d picked out at least three shirts before settling on a plain grey shirt. He’d cleaned up his beard a little and even picked nicer jeans for the occasion. Even if Emily could’ve cared less about what he wore, Atlas was big on making a good impression. Plus, the last thing he wanted was for Devyn to question something about him. This had to be perfect, or at least as close to perfect as a first time meeting could be.
Unsure of who to go to for advice, Atlas opted to make a stop before hitting the address she’d texted him. Flowers for Dev and a stuffed animal for Emily. Would either of them like what he got them? It was really too hard to tell, but it was effort that mattered most to him. If Dev wanted to see action, he’d give her action.
When Atlas arrived at her place, he paced for only a few minutes before grabbing the flowers and stuffed bear before heading to the door where he knocked and waited impatiently. If he screwed this up entirely, he’d understand why Dev wanted to keep Emily from him. If not, then maybe it was the perfect first step to being the parents the child deserved.
