Dragons hybrids of all types naturally have hoarding instincts. But it isn't limited to just gold and jewelry, no, it can be anything that they like or find pretty. Maybe their favorite stuffed animal or favorite trinket or favorite sweatshirt or whatever. BUT, aside from normal hoarding instincts, every now and then (not very often), they'll get a spike(??) In their hoarding instincts. Where all they can think about if their hoard hoard hoard. Adding to the hoard, organizing their hoard, protecting their hoard, etc. So much so that they'll barely pay attention to anything else unless nessacary.
Now imagine, sea dragon Martyn. currently in one of these hoarding instinct spikes. Maybe during the middle of LimL or some other series. Nabbing everything he can to his hoard. In walks Scott. Before Scott can even process the giant pile of who knows what in the middle of the room, Scott is already being picked up and added lovingly to Martyn's hoard. Right in the center of it.
