Okay, full props to Hange on the Kakupuri discord for bringing it up and thus drawing my attention, but apparently 876 (Bandai Namco) will be putting out a new property, Miki no Mikoto, with humanized sake breweries.

Excuse me for a sec. 🤣

Lest you all think that I’m just an alcoholic, my last job was at a Japanese restaurant so I got to deal with a lot of sake. Some of the breweries being featured are both pretty famous even in overseas markets, and produce some of my favorite labels. I’m looking at you, Dassai. The other characters I’ve featured here are named after the Dewazakura and Koshinokanbai breweries.

Black Hair Dassai’s very hardworking, but he doesn’t like getting close to people without reason so he keeps to himself. He gives off a cool image but actually likes cute stuff

Glasses Boy Dewazakura loves eating cherries and flower-viewing. He’s a calculating, intelligent-type who studies others and is very good at figuring out how others are feeling. But he hates working so he’s not very much for hospitality.

And Koshinokanbai, with the poof, is a 100% ore-sama type. But he’s a leader-type who’s good at cooking and taking care of others, so he’s also pretty reliable. (But his quote is “I’ll intoxicate you”...?) He’s the type who wants to eat together with everyone.

Some of the other breweries that have been anthropomorphized are Tamanohikari, Sawanoi, Kinkame, Reizan, and Kunimare. There’s no word on a release date, or even an example of a game system so I have absolutely no clue how this plays. There’s a variety of illustrators involved in these character designs, but they do seem to mesh pretty well.

But as I mentioned with Senjyushi (which still isn’t out yet...), sometimes all you need is a character that intrigues me.
