April 2023 Dewey's Reading Relay

For the week leading into our readathon we'll be doing a series of 2 day 'sprints' For each one, pick your TBR and see how many books/pages/hours you can finish. These sprints would be a great way to revisit previous TBRs, or to focus on those stubbornly slow books you'd love to have finished by the readathon.

I finished my two short books. Exteriors, by Annie Ernaux, which is a French book of diary entries made up of observations of random people. Not sure why it's shelved as fiction at the library, since from what I gather, it's based on what she actually observed. Also, I Will Not Die Alone by Dera White, which is just a list of affirmations with illustrations of animals. Also, there's an asteroid.

I'm also reading two books I don't plan to finish today. Thomasina by Paul Gallico is about a cat named Thomasina and the little girl who loves her and her father who is a vet who hates animals. (The description doesn't do it justice). Years ago, I saw a Disney movie based on the book, and just happened to run into the book at the library a week ago, so I had to get it. Also, The Secret Diaries of Charles Ignatius Sancho by Paterson Joseph. It's the fictionalized account of the (real)first Black person to vote in Britain.
