Facebook Arts and Crafts Readathon Challenge:

For Dewey's October 2023 Readathon

(This is going up early so folks can plan ahead.) You are welcome to share your projects for this challenge on the social media you will be using during the readathon, during or after the readathon. #deweysreadthon #deweysoctober2023

1: Bookmarks- Make or select a bookmark for one of the books you are reading during the readathon. Share a photo of your bookmark.

2. Create a 5-10 song playlist of music inspired by one of the books you are reading during the readathon. Share your playlist (as a text list, spotify playlist link, etc.)

3. Write a review of one of the books you are reading, as if you are screening books for a TV producer who may want to make a miniseries or TV movie based on your book.

4. Imagine that one of the books you are reading is being made into a major film. Cast your book's film. Who are the main characters, and who will play them?

5. Create a mood-board collage, Pinterest board, or photo set inspired by a book you are reading for this readathon.

Dewey's 2023 Spring Readathon April 29-30

Are you excited about our Spring Readathon? We'll start at 8am Eastern Time on Saturday, April 29th, and finish Sunday, April 30th at 8am Eastern Time.

To kick off our Spring Readathon month we are doing a week long reading lap (basically a casual week-long readathon) from April 1-7. Are you joining in? What are you reading?

April 2023 Dewey's Reading Relay

For the week leading into our readathon we'll be doing a series of 2 day 'sprints' For each one, pick your TBR and see how many books/pages/hours you can finish. These sprints would be a great way to revisit previous TBRs, or to focus on those stubbornly slow books you'd love to have finished by the readathon.

Hour 1: Setting the stage-

Where are you reading from? What are you eating/drinking? What are you wearing? We traditionally start off every Dewey's readathon with an hour-long sprint. Are you joining in? What are you reading to kick off the Dewey's Fall 2022 Readathon?

Oct2023 Hour 4: Reading Sprint!

How is your readathon going so far? We have been reading for a couple hours now, and if you have not taken a break yet, you really should stand up, move around, drink something, eat something, pet the reading buddies, etc. Then grab your book for our second scheduled reading sprint. We start at the top of the hour, and the sprint officially ends at the end of Hour 4.
