It was getting frustrating that he was constantly putting himself in between her and danger. Even though it ended with him injured. “You do remember that I can take care of myself, right?” Elizabeth shouted from behind him.
Her eyes darted around them, looking for a tear that would be useful to the situation. Finding what she needed, she reached out and pulled it open, allowing a rather futuristic looking automobile to drift into their reality.
Elizabeth’s hand went to her father’s arm. “Come on. That’ll keep them distracted long enough for us to get away.”

It felt so strange having someone so close to her, comforting her. Her entire life had been spent alone in her tower, her books and Songbird her only company. And then, Booker Dewitt literally fell into her life and completely upended it. They had gone through hell and come out the other side together. Now, she held on, her face pressed to his chest as he held her tightly. She still couldn’t reconcile the fact that this was the same man that had given her over to Comstock. To himself from a different reality. But, for now, she could set it all aside to just take in the moment.
“What do we do now?” she murmured. For all her knowledge of the universe, she still felt like the lost little girl she had been at the beginning of this grand adventure.

𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐠𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 , sending out waves of shudders to make her teeth chatter . copper oozed out from small lacerations along the tongue , the metalic taste slithering down her throat . something still poked around between the shoulder blades , a residual pain without a home .
this trauma is constant , spanning countless seas with only minute variations . neither of their choices would have painted a different path , her torture was always inevitable . it is cruel to reveal that their choices were cemented stones in the road , but the truth is there , in the crack of the door .
brows pinched as elizabeth rolled her shoulders , praying the pain away . the curl of a sneer softened out to a pin straight line , gaze averted as she moved to stand . a safe distance was held , for should he try to touch , her skin might crack . ❛ we need to keep moving . ❜
fuck me up, fox ( for booker & del, ofc )
send fuck me up for four angsty headcanons for our characters
1. in a particularly friendly moment between the two, delsin accidentally called booker ‘reggie’. it deflated the situation immediately, and delsin didn’t talk to booker for almost a week.
2. one night, several days after the situation with augustine, booker finds delsin crying on the roof because every time he closes his eyes he sees his brother letting go, feels the life fade from hank over and over, and is terrified because he doesn’t regret it. booker doesn’t have to ask before delsin tells him he’d do it again.
3. a disagreement between the two on delsin’s handling of the situation and his lack of urgency in helping booker find elizabeth leads to delsin lashing out at booker with his powers, injuring the man. delsin would’ve killed him -- almost killed him. but booker reminds him too much of his brother, so he stormed off instead.
4. as the only human member of delsin’s team, booker is often targeted. delsin usually handles protecting him pretty obsessively, and one instance against local law enforcement and the national guard led to delsin demolishing a large portion of a city, taking thousands of lives in his anger. although used to his antics, booker hasn’t really looked at delsin the same since
@dewitless sent: look, we were both there. you know. we don’t need to revisit the past. / booker to delsin bc i’m spamming u w/ memes
fingers flex, the chain on his wrist feeling more like a shackle than a weapon. he can smell the rain coming sitting up so high, even if the light pollution from the city masks the greyness of the coming clouds. he wanted to be left alone, but god forbid anyone fucking do that. and it’s not like delsin regrets his actions -- it’s been weeks now -- because hank had it coming, alright? delsin doesn’t doubt that. but killing hank was... different than killing the dupes. it was personal, deliberate. hank begged. if hank was a monster, what does that make delsin?
he closes his hands into fists, doesn’t look at booker as he instead looks out across the city. the city that is now his. “i don’t wanna talk about it.”
