Buttman for dexterlittle9
They were sitting behind the elementary school alone. No children screaming, no jarring bells dictating the schedule. It was the middle of December and a light snow was falling, wispy thin snowflakes landing on their eyelashes and sticking to their clothes. Most of the other seniors were gone, many of them visiting colleges or relatives or off partying in Denver and Aurora. Stan and Kyle had gone a few days ago to tour all the East Coast schools they’d applied to together, and Kenny was working in the city, probably dealing again. That left Cartman and Butters alone in South Park.
Neither of them spoke as they watched the snow fall to the ground. Butters was angled towards Cartman, trying to soak up some of his body heat, and his white-blonde hair was tussled. Their breaths were smoky-white against the pervasive cold of the air, each lost in his own thoughts.
They sat until the pearly grey-white sky had deepened to a satiny midnight. Butters’ lips were blue and he was shaking. Cartman sighed and took off his coat, bundling Butter up in it as they walked slowly back towards Bonanza Way in the dark, guided only by their memory, since they could hardly see their own feet.
Once inside Cartman’s house, they threw off their soaked coats and snow clothes, Butters shivering terribly despite the heat being on. They stripped to their long johns and then trudged up to Eric’s room, where they changed into pajamas. Butters borrowed a pair of Cartman’s, which nearly fell off of his slim, pale waist; he hadn’t expected to need any. The boys gathered a heap of blankets and burrowed under them on the couch in front of the TV, growing sleepy even though it was still early in the night.
“Want some cocoa, Eric?” Butters asked, suddenly craving something warm and sweet. But Cartman had already conked out, his nose whistling softly as he breathed in, out, deeply. His soft head of hazelnut hair was gently leaning on Butters’ shoulder, and so Butters settled down, head resting atop Eric’s, leaving the TV on, its soft murmurs and Eric’s rising breath rocking him to sleep.
