I always find it funny when people who don't like solarnexus ask that cause are you truly ready to hear me yap about it? LMAO ok, this is gonna be a long answer, if you still don't ship it after it, it's just whatever xd i'm just answering your question (convincing people to ship them is always a plus that i never expect)

I started shipping Solar and Nexus like at half of Solar living in the pizzaplex, I think it a bit after their christmas episode? I thought it was a good ship already, but I 100% started shipping them there, and THAT is out of 2 reasons

1. I saw beautiful fanart from an artist here who had some pretty Solar and New Moon designs, their blue Solar is my beloved to this day. I also saw @witchysolfan 's fanarts of them and like,, HELLO??? THE WAY THEY PORTRAYED THEM??? amazing, so PRETTY so CUTE! these nerds in silly, comfy, lovey dovey situations??? omg it GOT ME

and 2. the episode I saw, it was when Eclipse came back after christmas and they got the stickers THOSE GODDAMN STICKERS AND SOLAR CALLING HIM C U TE ?? yeah no, that was so gay, that was actually beautiful

and mind you they were not yet talking about family labels, so why the HELL would i not ship them there??? they were literally besties

AND THEN i started analyzing, ok, i like these guys, I NEED to see what I love from them now, I NEED to see them interacting FROM THE START so i can actually fully understand what i adore about this ship

Ok you can completely ignore this if you don’t want to talk about but what happened in August 2024 and solar nexus

I left the fandom because the maternity chip stuff made me uncomfortable only got back into the fandom around the overseer arc because Jack came and dragged me back by the ankles

All I know is it was some solar nexus drama drama and calling it inset but that’s it

damn you left way too early

SIGH ITS A LOT OF LORE TO SUMMARIZE NGL AHDKWHFJ sorry i could summarize it later better but the main point is solar and nexus are not brothers, solar is from another dimension, he was not literally adopted, there's no code relation between him and nexus, they started as FRIENDS, not family, he was only "included" cause earth (now terra) wanted to and he didnt care (but he also didn't see nexus or any of the celestials as literally family, found family can be just a group of friends who care for each other)

and Nexus (called New Moon before) called Solar brother like 2 times only because all he knew was family, he was new, he didn't even have a year of existente yet to this point, so it's confirmed that he used to believe that if he was really really close to someone, using a comfort label as "brother" would explain that bond for him, even if they were just best friends, AGAIN i gotta remind, SOLAR DID NOT SEE HIM AS A BROTHER, he saw him as FRIEND, THEY BOTH SAW EACH OTHER AS CLOSE FRIENDS

now to the whole harassment thing, I AM NOT SUPER INFORMED ON IT because i was seeing everything a bit from afar because i was scared that people would also start harassing me or cancelling me cause i shipped solarnexus (it used to be called solarmoon, cause Nexus' old name was moon/new moon)

anyway, THEN happened that earth was starting to call Solar cousin and all that, THEN Solar dies, New Moon breaks down at one point saying he missed his "brother", then he becomes Nexus (all this between months btw, it's just a lot)

SO DURING AUGUST 2024 THEY ALREADY HAD 2 THINGS TO STILL BOTHER A LOT OF THE SHIPPERS HERE AT TUMBLR ABOUT THE SHIP, CALLING US BOTH ACEPHOBICS AND PROSHIPPERS XD

they started targeting a group of people here, EVEN PEOPLE WHO DIDN'T SHIP SOLARNEXUS but just out of spite xd they started sending them gore to their askbox, yeah, just like that, they were also posting a lot about how the ship is disgusting, is incest, is this and that, they even DOXXED SOMEONE, YEAH

so someone had to go DO SOMETHING BECAUSE IT WAS GETTING BAD, and they went to talk to a mod and then to Reed (Moons VA) personally who FIRST before knowing the whole harassment thing said how the ship was one of the lightest ships in this fandom and they were not actually family but that nexus called solar brother as you would call a friend "sister" "brother" "sibling", AND THEN he knew about the harassment and he MADE A POST ON TWITTER ABOUT IT

the last two tweets were because this group of idiotic people were trying to prove to Reed that they weren't the ones harassing us xd and he got mad as shit

IT TOOK A WHILE but after this the hate kinda kinda settled down

however this whole thing needs more detail and again i know everything from an outside view because i was not the one getting harassed
