Dwarf Fortress News Sneak Peak at Adventure Mode and New Bugtracker!
New Merch and European Storefront
do you happen to know if the bug where only one dwarf could use a bin, thus causing a work stoppage for other dwarves needing it, ever got fixed? i remember tarn talking about fixing it after steam df got announced but did a fix ever make it in?
The bug has been fixed!
Tarn briefly mentioned this in the October 22nd 2022 Bay12 Devlog. It also gets an honourable mention at the bottom of the first changelog of version 50.

Volcanoes don't erupt in Dwarf Fortress. Except when they do.
introducing:
Bug 0008183: Overflowing magma seas/pools after unretire or reclaim.
unretired a fort, I discovered a magma sea (without message, just saw that it is there). The top layer of magma changed it depth constantly ranging from 5-7 after some time it would overflow and flood everything arround it. It doesn't stop.
This overflowing of magma seems to be triggered when walls are built around the rim of the volcano causing issues with calculating the height of the magma.
Eventually, you get this end screen as the map is flooded with magma:
Your settlement has crumbled to its end.
Dead men tell no tales...
Bug 011399: Dead suspects confess to crimes. From Bug Report:
One of my dwarves was seen stealing an artefact. When I checked if it had left the map I found it in the hands of a visitor. I set the citizen to be interrogated and in the meantime had the visitor killed before he could leave.
In due course my citizen implicated the now-dead visitor (whose corpse had unsurprisingly changed name). I wanted some resolution, and could mark the dead visitor to be interrogated so I did so.
To my surprise the dead visitor confessed to the crime! Told me the whole story and gave a set of pseudonyms, including the one he had used in my fort.
