Liminality: the space between no longer and not yet.

Welcome to a long running passion project of mine! I’ve had these characters and this story being slowly built since I was in middle school, and I thought here would be a good first place to share it now that I have an actual plot and while I learn to create games.

❗Just a heads up! This blog and plot will contain/contains themes of death, implied suicide, intense moments/paranoia, and a few other possibly distressing topics. I will mark each comic and ask reply with the correct tws/cws in the tags. Continue at your own discretion! <3

Asks are OPEN for every listed character !!

This specific iteration of the story will be told through short comics and ask replies!

(Obviously the future game and story may have a different plot both because of development over time and because parts of this will be altered slightly by your asks, but it will be generally the same :D )

⚠️ NO shipping or NSFW asks please! It makes me generally uncomfortable, and most characters are vastly different age ranges or related. An exception to shipping is Cassidy and Riley, as they are already in a relationship. Platonic actions are fine. Also, I will not be answering asks regarding yumeshipping/selfshipping (sorry), although I don’t care what you do on your own time <3 ⚠️

Rules

As previously mentioned, no NSFW asks. Specifically, no explicit asks. Mentioning things like smoking and drinking are fine, but you know what I mean by NSFW. So. None of that pleases and thank yous. 👁️👁️

Also on a similar topic no shipping (Cas and Riley still an exception). Also,,, just generally don’t tag me in yumeshipping/selfshipping art because I don’t know how comfortable I’d be with that sorrys

Please please please don’t hound me to answer an ask 😓 especially initially while I’m still figuring out how to manage an askblog asks will be very very slow.

Projecting silly agonies and certain issues onto characters is fine–HOWEVER. Nothing too like. Described, specific, personal, you get what I mean. I need to read, answer AND draw your asks, so please keep that in mind. I'm just some guy behind a screen, NOT a therapist.

Keep it respectful !! Not just to me, but also to each other. We don’t need any unnecessary drama here please 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

Silly asks are very lovely and goofy but also if a character is going through something it may not be answered. Just try to generally keep on topic, and keep it generally relevant to the plot and blog. I’m not a confession blog. 😅

CHARACTER TIME WOOOO

Samuel Manora

He/him

The head scientist of Heliosis Analytics, a lab facility on the outskirts of the town. Nobody outside of colleagues is fully sure what he does, but it is known that it is his most complex research yet. Generally blunt and no-nonsense in nature and speech.

Juno Manora

He/any

The much younger and much less put-together younger brother of Samuel. They're known for her impulsive behavior and upbeat nature, always adding a bit of fun to hangouts. He's generally hyper and a tad unfiltered, but they mean well.

Lucielle Westing

She/her

A polite yet quiet young lady. She’s rumored to work for Heliosis Analytics, also under Samuel, but no one is fully sure of this. She currently fosters Valorie Hendrix alone in a small house. She’s very sweet, yet not seen around town very often anymore.

Michael Verdant

He/him

Samuel’s second-in-command in terms of lab work. He’s generally quite chattery, depending on subject. Had a rough divorce a year or so back, but loves his two daughters- Lilith and Marie- very dearly. He’d give the world for his daughters, despite his crammed work schedule.

Marie + Lilith Verdant

(They're obviously two separate characters, I just combined them together for the silly hahas- you can ask them separately too)

Both she/her

The two lovely highschool-aged daughters of Michael. Despite being twins, they are both incredibly different; Marie (left) favors personal space, while Lilith (right) adores social environments. Even with this, they’ve been attached by the hip since they were little. Marie tends to stay in the background, letting her sister take the spotlight.

Valorie Hendrix

She/her

Upbeat and chaotic foster daughter of Lucielle, and good highschool friend of Marie and Lilith. She’s known for her bubbly nature and bright clothing style, and she cherishes her childhood plushie- Mr. Button- with her life.

Keith Hall

He/him

Good older friend and often “supervisor” of Juno, Riley, and Cas. He runs the arcade near the middle of the town, and prides himself in leaving his games un-rigged. Aside from that, he’s very laid-back, but also acts as a voice of reason for his younger friend group.

Riley Jones

She/her

Eccentric and eclectic, Riley is best known for her loud fashion sense and sarcastic sense of humor. She's got a shorter fuse than some of her friends, but she's been getting better about it. Her mood is very up and down- high one day, low the next. Either way, she's pretty chill.

Cassidy Lynell

She/they

Contrary to their girlfriend, Riley, Cas is much more on the nervous side of the personality wheel. She often stutters when speaking, and gets flustered very easily. Despite all this, they're an absolute ray of sunshine, always willing to help where she's needed.
