Formados pela união de John Watson e Mary Morstan, seu principal nome. Jonh escolhe mudar o sobrenome de sua família parra o nome do lugar onde ele nasceu para despistar os inimigos da família de sua esposa.

Mary pôde ver os filhos mais velhos crescerem por muito pouco tempo, mas não a impedindo de ter um grande afeto igual por eles. Depois de sua recuperação do coma, o filho de quem ela mais de aproximou foi Sam que era só um bebê quando ela o viu pela última vez. Quando volta do coma, faz tudo para recuperar o tempo perdido.

Sam por sua vez, e por ter crescido com a ausência da mãe tornou sua irmã Belle sua principal figura materna, e Dean seu maior modelo e herói.
