(Unpopular Bioware Opinion) Dragon Age 2 is definitely a flawed game but substantially better than it’s given credit for. They fleshed out some interesting conflicts and ideas from the first game, a lot of the writing is great (I know people argue there isn’t really an overarching story other than “everything happens to Hawke, which, fair, but I don’t really mind that) and it has some cool art in it. I still wish the devs had had time to finish it and make the game they wanted to make, but what there is, isn’t as bad as its reputation.
This might be more of an unpopular opinion among gamers in general than among Dragon Age fans, idk
I really can't believe you're having to put up with all this shit about T'Pring. Like you said, no matter her situation, she arranged things to kill Kirk rather than risk killing Stonn. And you can't convince me that Vulcans wouldn't see the logic in releasing her from the marriage oath if she didn't approve, but she waited until Spock was in Pon Farr to say anything? It's ridiculous that this is a debate and I'm sorry you're getting harassment for it.

I can understand both sides of the issue, to be honest, but I have a problem with treating T'Pring like a “pure” character when she was anything but.
Even if she DID have no other choice, what she did was terrible, and dragging Kirk into it was just unnecessary.
Not to mention; dragging ME under the bus because you disagree with my opinion about a character (as someone who’s been in her position) is more than unnecessary, it’s malicious.

Joker does comment about the colonists pounding on the ship and going nuts at one point, I think when the geth dropship gets destroyed, so yeah, Joker would definitely be involved too.
He does, yeah! He absolutely would get involved. He's not real thrilled with having to just sit tight either as the colonists are trying to break into the ship.
And he's not happy afterwards ("Next time we touch down, let's try not to park the ship in a colony of mutant zombies. Just thinking out loud here").
There's some random planet somewhere else that *also* has Thorian creepers (thanks to Exo-Geni and maybe Cerberus too?), and no doubt Joker will be consoled by the fact that hey, at least the ship wasn't on the ground.
Yeeeeeah, there's a reason that I was uncomfortable with the Shepard/Liara dynamic BEFORE my issues were exacerbated by way of the body recovery thing. Like... Liara just isn't given much exploration as a character (and, by extension, isn't given much to hang commonalities between them on) in ME1, and the dynamic SCREAMS that it's an adrenaline-fueled fling, not eternal love, but the writing tries SO. HARD. to convince us it's the latter...
Yeah, it is definitely not everyone's cup of tea! I similarly am not a fan of the dynamic of several of the other romances (and some of them I like seeing playing out with other people's Shepards but not mine XD).
The body recovery issue sure is a Thing and I feel like it works better in a romance and especially if Shepard's not a Spacer (because Hannah). I can absolutely see why people don't like it. I am glad there is at least the one option for Shepard to get mad about it (and take that and run with it in Merrick's case) and it would have been nice if there were more.
Part of the ME1 trouble is that she only gets fewer conversations than Ash or Kaidan do and so the flirting kicks in on conversation #1. The writing on her last conversation also is mostly about how great asari bonding is, which....sure is a choice.
It does improve in 2 and 3 (a lot!) and I adore the romance version of LotSB and I'm really into the sweeping trilogy-long romances. There are some interesting things going on with it that make it pretty different from Ash or Kaidan's romance (differing lifespans + Shepard being unable to throw a rock in ME2 without hitting a random asari coping with the lifespan difference between her current/deceased husband, Liara being a civilian + Shepard being career military) which are fun to play around with even if the writing doesn't explore them very much.
I'm certainly having fun with Liara's romance; part of my fun with the ME1 romance consists of a lot of poking at it to make my odd little version of it (true love!) work in my head.
