Obviously I had to draw out their first kiss! I mean it is waay toooo cute to not draw.

unfortunately I might not be able to finish my last drawing today so I’ll have to post it tomorrow...

The 2018 DGM Big Bang is officially finished!

I want to thank all the writers, artists, and beta readers who participated in the event, as well as my talented and trusty Mods, @huapomme, @atropadesideria, @abookmansheart and @the14thnea!​ I couldn’t have pulled this off without your help.

I know there are still a few people who need to post their works. I will continue to check the #dgmbb2018 and #dgmbigbang2018 tags and reblog anything posted there. If I haven’t reblogged your work, please message me @kitty-bandit. It’s totally possible your post might not have shown up in the tags or I have missed it.

As for the future of this event, I do hope people will participate again. I know a lot of people were burned out by this event, myself included. So, tentatively, we will be hosting this event again in two years. Lookout for posts in 2020!

For those who participated, we would like to hear your feedback on this event. Please fill out this form and let us know your thoughts. This was the first time any of the Mods had hosted an event like this, and we would really like your feedback. We have already discussed doing things differently in the next Big Bang (specifically, having writers finish their fics before pairing up with artists to reduce participants dropping at the last minute), but any and all suggestions are welcome.

I really want to participate in the dgm big bang, but I'm kind of embarrassed about my writing. Do you have any advice?

Hey there, Anon!

If you want to participate in the Big Bang, you should! We specifically state in our information page that artists and writers of all skill levels are welcome to join. As long as you can meet the criteria (10k word fic or 2-4 artworks) then don’t let a silly thing like embarrassment stop you!

If you’re worried about your writing I do have a few tips for you.

First, I would plot out you fic, scene by scene. Plotting with details always helps me when I’m writing, and I get stuck less. Also, you can work out plot holes before you’ve written a bunch and realize you have to change it.

Second, start early! If you know you want to participate as a writer for the DGM Big Bang, then you don’t have to wait! Get writing today! It only gives you more time to work on your story!

Third, we’ll be offering Beta Readers to those in need. People can sign up as Beta Readers and help you with your writing. If you need help and want some personally tailored advice, we can find you a Beta Reader!

::DGMBB 2018 Final Post::

Once again, I would like to thank everyone for participating in the Big Bang. I know there are a few people who still have yet to post, and I’ll continue to check the tags to reblog when they do. But I would like to leave one more message for everyone before disappearing back to my other blogs.

After reviewing the survey results, I’ve made the following decisions regarding the future of the Big Bang:

We will tentatively host the next Big Bang event at the beginning of 2020.

Writers will need to finish (or be close to finishing) their fics before artists claims even occur. (This will be used as a way to make sure we have less dropouts. This will also serve to keep artists from being bored the entire event and having to wait for their writer to finish before being able to draw.)

The length of the event will be shortened. (Originally, I had thought that everyone would be happier with a longer timeframe for completion, but it seems that was a double-edged sword, and many people ended up procrastinating their project until the last minute regardless.)

The current Big Bang Discord server will be deactivated, and upon the arrival of the new event in 2020, a new discord will be made. Also, only Big Bang participants may be granted access to the discord server.

It’s been a long event, and I look forward to seeing who can participate next time! Thank you again!

Less Than a Week Until Posting!!!

Reminder to all Big Bang Participants – Posting begins this Saturday, September 1st!

I know we’re all excited, but I wanted to take time to remind everyone participating in the Big Bang about posting for the event.

Post your fic/art September 1st - September 7th.

Communicate with your partner to determine the best time to post. You should post on the same day.

Remember to link to each other’s works, so everyone can see the art and fics together.

Remember to tag your works #DGMBB2018 or #DGMbigbang2018 so the Mods on this blog can find your work and reblog it here. You may also @ this blog so we receive the notification.

Our second Check In will begin on July 1st. Mods will be contacting you via tumblr or discord to make sure everything is going okay and you don’t need any help. We’ve already had a few drops outs due to personal issues, so if something comes up and you know you can’t make the deadline, please let the Mods know.

There is a tentative Check In scheduled for August 1st. We may not need this, as long as things are going well.

If you need a beta reader, please contact us! Most writers are also beta readers for this event. Our discord server has a few people who are dedicated beta readers as well.
