Irus road his horse though the forest at a steady pace. His youngest daughter resting within his arms. The small little eight year old was a growing beauty to behold. Her dress the purest white like that of her hair and bright green eyes glowed in the darkness of the forest. She was a beacon of hope and peace within the dark. She sang a gentle song. Her sweet voice like a whisper in the wind as she and her father journey home.
"Father how long till we get home." She asks pausing in her singing as she truned her bright eyes to him. Her father smiled knowing already that it would be not to long into the trip that he would hear that question. It amused him greatly.
"Soon my Sweet one. Right past the river." He said chuckling softly as he prompt the horse to move a little faster. The sweet little girl squealed in joy at it speed holding on tighter to the rails and her daddy.
"Yay!Faster!Faster!Faster!"
The horse went slowly faster. Being careful enough not to knock the little one off. The two of them laughed in joy.
Then out of nowhere an arrow flew though the air hitting Irus squarely in the center of his soul and knocking him of the horse. His daughters scream rang throughout the forest. The horse moved faster the little girl hold tighter leaning forward her head down and tear in her eyes as she looked back.
"DADDY!"
"GO!"
Irus faded into dust the young one moved on the attacker shotting arrows at her and the horse form behind.
"Get her!",They called.
The horse moved faster shadows gathering around them curling into a a figure beside them. The little girl look at it in shock. There running beside the horse was the shadow of her father.
"Daddy!" The little one cried reaching out for him, "Daddy please!"
"Go to your mother!" He says running at the same pase as they were his bow and arrow in hand as he shoot back at the attackers staying by there side until the river came into view.
"Go.", the shadows called hitting the backside of the horse making it go faster. The horse jumped over the river taking away his sweet one leaving him. He nodded assured that she would be fine. He turned back into the forest.
