this may be the dracula in me speaking, but sometimes i feel my vampiric nature is just different enough from modern pop culture that it causes me to react to modern vampire media in a sort of grumpy old man way lol

like in my head, im just your local demonic-ish bloodsucking neighbour who turns into a wolf sometimes, and i look at twilight and shake my head disapprovingly while saying, "tch, these vampires these days don't know how good they have it... back in MY day!"

my (also slightly vampiric) partner finds this absolutely hilarious how i'm disgustingly over-educated on more 'traditional' vampire lore, and while it's somewhat humiliating to be the "back in my day" vamp of the group, i can see the amusement lol
