🗝 ༝ i haven't done this since i was little, so forgive me for being rusty - anyway, i'm into a good couple metal subgenres, from black metal to nu metal to visual kei, i'm not picky. i play the bass, though not very well. i live in an attic in a small mountainside town, where it gets very cold, and very lonely. i love cats, but i can't have any right now. i'm an illustrator by trade, and a collector of dead things by choice - i have quite a few tiny specimens! i also love horror movies more than anything. i'm a bit awkward, but i put a lot of effort into my friends. i would absolutely send you pretty drawings, pressed flowers, and whatever else i find to embellish my letters.

I ask this due to my mother’s curiosity (genuine) and now my own sparked by her; do you use beetles in your process before putting the bones in the pot? My mom mentioned some people do that, and now I’m curious if you do as well, my bone collecting friend

i unfortunately. Dont Have Flesh Eating Beetles although id really love to keep them someday. i just dont collect nearly enough fleshy roadkill to give them a proper diet and i would have to do plenty of research on stuff like enclosures that im. too broke for right now LOL
so allow me. misha's broke ass dead things collecting method. if you gather up a bunch of Outside Dirt, it should have just about enough bugs in it to feed off of a small animal :] ive done it with a couple frogs before and it does take longer, but it Works. just put a couple cups of Outside Dirt in a big pot or a bucket, leave it somewhere with plenty of ventilation and preferably even outside or near a window (in case yknow. the crawlies wanna crawl) and check every week or so on the progress!
alternatively and much better. if you have an actual outdoors space with dirt and bugs, just straight up bury it there! inside a bag or an open box with a marker, so you dont lose it (i would. Usually do this as its the fastest way to get yer bones back, but. unfortunately. Attic Dweller). same principle applies here just way more chill lol, let the bugs do their thang and check in every once in a while until its all bones :]
so. wow to cut my gigantic yap short. i dont have super metal flesh devouring beetles YET. but i do have the help of the local population so 🙂↕️ peace and love to my bug friends who eat very well and i get to keep the pretty bones
