He has not been paying too much attention to the pleasant strum of music in the background, far too focused on his own thoughts. The tapping of his pencil against an empty sheet of paper. From time to time, he finds it difficult to collect himself: etch his carefully woven sentences onto paper to form stories. Every word forms a petal of a continuously growing flower and usually he can imagine it gradually blooming. But at the moment, his mind is empty and he can’t come up with a single decent thing to write. Even worse, he has no ideas for what to illustrate for his piece either. Even with all the information collected and sorted, there’s nothing. Nothing. 

“Hm?” He breaks his own lingering silence, raising his gaze from his remaining blank space to allow it to linger by the other for a little while. “Oh... uh...” Plush lips press into a thin line while he thinks, realizing he had registered the question a bit slower than he normally would, Maybe his mind is a bit more clouded than he would have expected it to be. But why? He shakes it off. Those thoughts do not belong here anyway. Not right now at least. Rather than letting his thoughts consume him he’s focusing on the mentioned song, eyes narrowing for a few moments before familiarity strikes him and he ends up smiling. “Isn’t it Fate by Lee Sun Hee?” Byeongsu asks with a raised brow. He considers it to be an educated guess rather than something he is entirely sure of. “It sounds like it at least but I might be wrong.”

Nat beeline her way into his room. Though he was a few years younger than him, Ilho has become her best friend from the moment she moved to Seoul, even during the time of her tour. He knows just about everything there is to know about her, including the horrid nightmares from her navy past. So it wasn’t at all a surprise that she knows the entrance code of his apartment. 

“Yah Ilho!” She mumbles into his pillow. Maybe she could get away with picking the movie for the night. After all he had free reign with her netflix account when he decided to come by her place a few days ago. “Bring us some snacks will you!?” 

With a final sigh, the tattoo artists stands up, ungracefully yet silently moving towards his closet to get a fresh pair of sweats and hoodie. As per usual, she strips then and there and proceeds on to wear his clothes, dumping her used one into the hamper. “I’ll do the laundry in the morning.” She calls out to him, before jumping back into his bed, in the process of snuggling into his blanket when she hears the signs of him coming over.

“five thousand, two thousand, oh i do have a couple of ten thousand notes left,” she muses happily as she counted the remaining korean won notes left in her wallet after having paid ilho for the fishes she planned on cooking later tonight. tilting her head as her favourite fish seller asked her the question, she takes a second or two to listen to the song that was playing on the radio before nodding enthusiastically.

“i have! it’s popped up on my playlist a couple of times and ever since then i’ve had it on repeat as well,” yiseul replies warmly, taking out her phone to show the other as she unlocked her screen and opened her music app. “not only do you sell good fish at good prices, you also have good taste in music as well!” she says as she held the phone closer to ilho. “do you have any other songs you’d recommend?”  

her eyes lit up with mischief as she continued, “since we have similar music taste, what about a discount for your beloved regular customer here?” the former athlete laughed as she retracted her joke, shaking her hand to indicate she had been merely joking.
