∗ o6﹕ is there something about the roleplay community that irks you ?
god, so many things. I really dislike the performative efforts some parts of the community make to be inclusive or 'woke' –– it's appreciated but, it can be so two-dimensional at the same time. on a less serious note, I also really dislike following people ( who aren't friends ) that never really write. at the end of the day, that's what I'm here for, and when I follow someone that never writes ( not necessarily with me even! ) it feels kind of frustrating and like that blog isn't really for me, so I end up unfollowing.
∗ o7﹕ what character/s do you relate to the most ?
I wasn't sure if this was relating to specific characters or tropes so I'll do both! in terms of archetypes, I relate most to empathetic, classic heroines ( which sounds so lame to say ) that are often passionate and emotional. ( side note: isn't always easier to be nice to yourself when you look at the characters you relate to? ) on my muses list, I relate most to hanna marin ( for so many reasons including but not limited to: both of us being run over and having daddy issues ), vex'ahlia, love quinn ( I mean, I'm not crazy, but I have bpd so there's some relatability there ), karolina dean, daisy calloway and mia thermopolis.
∗ 24﹕ is there a specific song that gets you in the mood for writing ?
not especially! whatever I'm currently into usually turns into my soundtrack. depending on the mood of the thread though, I shift my playlist to something appropriate. though there are times where I'll just blast the soundtrack of heathers while writing serious, mourning threads so... what now?
∗ 35﹕ is there a character you consistently have muse for ?
hmmm... that character used to be daphne blake ( over on @dangeress ) but I think I've written her for so long that I need a break currently, so if not daphne I'd say... really my ocs. I could write them any day without a problem. same with some of my more obscure muses like silena beauregard ( from percy jackson ) and lottie person ( snotgirl comics ).
∗ 40﹕ what is your opinion on duplicates ?
now this is the most complicated questions. back when I started rping on indie in 2016, I really struggled with duplicates. I was used more to there only being one of each character ( I roleplayed majorally in groups back then, both canon and oc ) and so it felt kind of like someone was 'taking over' your favorite character. since then, I feel like I've worked through my duplicate anxiety significantly. of course, I have certain characters that I don't feel comfortable with interacting with because I feel attached to them ( jester lavorre, bryce quinlan, daphne blake, rachel dare, etc. ) but depending on if a very close friend of mine is writing them, I can always put aside my own personal insecurities, because I care more about supporting my friends! for the most part though, I no longer really struggle with 'duplicate' anxiety, even though I think we all struggle with feelings of being replaced and being inadequate ( and imposter syndrome to a degree ) every now and then. I actually also really loved your response about there being no such thing as duplicates, since everyone writes their characters differently! ( really my only concern with interacting with the same character is accidentally lifting something from their character wirthout realizing. )
