Bobbi tienilo a bada.
(Amen un cazzo fra l'altro, qui i punti ce li dobbiamo tenere stretti, altroché)
La radio da usare solo in pitlane poi è esilarante, prova ad andare a dirlo a Verstappen quando ha le balle girate
I don't have any particular feelings about hungarian journos (or the category in general), but I just wanted to set the record straight that the questions charles was asked about the wdc and stuff come from a long video interview/conversation charles had with skyitalia comm carlo vanzini, they weren't from randos in the media pen
we can still like, hate the questions and whatnot, but they're just a couple amongst many other topics. watching the interview in Italian it's clear there's a special relationship with the italy media team and the conversation flows so much better (and makes more sense than as no-context snippets) – also the whole thing has a bit of banter and is more melancholy/whistful than enraging tbqh
still. charles was way too polite about his haterism 🙈 (and I agree there's not much of a point in asking self-centered competitors a question like that!)
thanks for the confirmation because I thought from the pics along with the caption that it was an interview with vanzini but I wasn’t 100% sure 🫣 anything thank you as well for adding context because that’s definitely important and it makes more sense that way <3
to be completely honest I don’t think journalists (speaking generally because indeed charles has a closer relationship with some italian and french journalists) are generally trying to be rude but out of context (and sometimes even in context) some of those questions can definitely sound a bit brutal and/or dumb 💀 then again it’s also their job to make them talk and try to get a reaction. In any case hopefully one day charles will go full hater but i doubt it :(( i do enjoy his subtle little digs though ;)

Ohhhhhhhhhh that's the best possible thing to wake up to! Thank you sm for sending this over! Actually, you're not the only person to link me this interview, and I kind of love that I now have this reputation as a Xavi stan. Our boy😭💕
I love this so much. Whenever I was trying to research more about Xavi, the interviews were few and far between. You could tell he was just a simple man trying to do his job and stay out of the spotlight. The part about the online hate 😢He deserved so much better!
Obviously he had a lot of praise for Charles, though that's no surprise, really! Race engineers and drivers work so closely together, spend so much time on-track together, going over the details, asking how the setup is feeling, and then obviously they're also in their ear throughout the actual sessions. It was always sad to see people claiming Charles must hate Xavi, or at least hate working with him, even when he made it clear that he doesn't, even when he chose to continue with him for 2024.
This part is everything 😭💕 We've heard Charles talking about Xavi before, that he enjoyed working with him and appreciated him and that he felt empathetic given the chaos on the pitwall in 2022 especially, but this is so new and so rare and my heart is so full. 🥺
I will never get over the fact that Ferrari never let them have a proper goodbye/send-off. Look at them! They deserved better as a driver/race engineer pairing. I know Bryan's beloved now but it never sat right with me that you'd let a race engineer (that's been working with this driver since the start of his career at your team, has been with him for his first pole, first win, all the milestones up to that point; not to mention was there for all the bad experiences, all the Monaco disappointments) just go with little acknowledgement and no chance for the driver to publicly say goodbye via radio. Hell, we've had drivers getting to shout-out their race engineers when they're just leaving briefly for paternity leave or being rotated out (for those who implement that model.)
Especially after all the online abuse Xavi had to endure over the years, it would've been the least they could have done, even just as a gesture of respect for both. I mean, he still speaks so highly of Ferrari and his time there, even though it coincided with some of the most difficult, inconsistent seasons in the team's recent history. Shows what kind of person he is. They could never make me hate you Xavi 🥺👑
Bonus: Xavi being a Sebchal truther 😭 He must have sooo many behind the scenes stories about 2019 and 2020, it would be incredible to pick his brain about it. Imagine all the fic fuel swdjefrg
hey how's it going? hopefully it's steadily getting better ❤️
I come bearing gifts! finally some good motorsport-related news about our boy xavi (and confirmation he's not dead and/or retired in a farm somewhere lol) — very glad to see he's still in the game even if in a whole other category, fingers crossed he'll be happy and successful there
Hey hun 💕
It's been... I mean 🥴 Let's just say I have better and worse days. If I keep myself busy with mundane, everyday tasks it's managable... but whenever my thoughts stray to something more long-term, or think about something we'll never get to share or experience together, the conversations we'll never have, or the fact that this will be the first Formula 1 season I'm watching completely alone... yeah, it sucks 😔
But. Onto the main part of your message!
That's our boyyyyy <3 That is good news indeed, highkey was starting to think Ferrari locked him away in some dark basement in Maranello and we'd never hear anything about him ever again 😭 It sucks that this is official confirmation that he's out of the Scuderia Ferrari structure altogether, not just in F1 – guess the whole move to “other important company programmes” was either complete bullshit on their part or very short-lived 🤔 – but I hope, like you said, he's happy and successful and rocks in his new position!
Also, now with Cadillac confirmed to be joining F1, I'd love to see him back in the paddock at some point. Though maybe he took the WEC job because it involves less travelling. I mean we all know they've worked hard to make the F1 calendar and schedule literally insane, with the mechanics and engineers bearing the brunt of it. So maybe that was a factor in his departure (though I still think it wasn't completely voluntary on his part, especially the awkward abrupt timing of it all...)
