Really random diablo thought.
Do you think nephilem/humans gave demons and angels uncanny valley being hybrids technically? They have the face of good and evil. Too perfect to be demonic, too imperfect to be angelic. Do you think both sides would find that kinda creepy, on a deep, almost spiritual level? Especially when they stop being on THEIR side?
When a human stops working for them, do they get brutally reminded that, yes, this is not just some creature to enslave or ally themselves with, but kin of their enemies? Did humans humming ever make demons pause in the beginning, being reminded these are beings of song and light? Did twinkles of mischief or guttural laughter ever send chills down an angel's spine, because for a split second they couldn't see the light in them?
Does anyone think about how they're minor reconstructions of Anu in a way? Before he removed darkness from himself and accidentally created tathamet? Do you think the demons and angels know? Looking at these unholy unions, do you ever think they wonder if this is as close as they're going to get to the true face of God, when he was imperfect and whole? Do they look like they're wearing something's skin, but it's hard to tell which way? A demon trying to be an angel, or an angel trying to fool demons?
I think that should be explored more. The uncanny existence of humans. How creepy it must be to see a reflection of yourself mangled with your enemy. They eat like demons, sing like angels, and they have no set nature. They can be influenced one way or another, but how terrifying must it be, knowing they have more choices than you. That one moment, they're on your side like your kin, either following your altruistic nature, or cowering under your cruel one, then the next they betray you, with irony. Selfishness if you are too blinding by good to care of their needs or greed, virtue if you accidentally give them the opportunity to save people from you. Either way, do you think demons and angels feel cheated when it happens? Tricked? Like they fell for a mask, that isn't a mask at all? How much of humanity came from one or the other. What traits make them stand out as not demon or not angel?
Idk, popped into my head while listening to music, humans must be pretty creepy in retrospect, they are literally hybrids that should NOT exist
