@diamcnddcgs Bruno’s getting a child (sort of)
She’s free. Conny’s actually free. Scared, definitely. Confused, absolutely. And lost. Can’t forget lost. Turns out, escaping has its downfalls when you’ve escaped into a world you’ve never been out in before, but she’s been doing okay. Hiding as whatever animals were around, following them, and eating what they ate had kept her going.
It had also lead her to a town. So many of the animals had been on their way here, so it was probably safe. But she’d thought that about her home, and that wasn’t safe at all. The best plan would be to keep doing what she had been. Follow the animals.
Here, it was rats. There was a decent population, and they seemed to know where they were going. Conny was tired, and it was getting harder to shift, but rats weren’t complicated. Soon enough, she was just one of the rats, scurrying along to wherever they called home.
They took her to a big house that they definitely knew their way around. Conny followed them through winding shortcuts and shadows along walls, until they finally reached what must have been ‘home’ for them. She was hoping for a little spot to sleep in, or maybe some food they had access to that she could take just a little bit of. What she found was the rats scattering themselves wherever they pleased around...a man.
Conny’s first instinct was to draw back, hiding in the shadows to watch him. It didn’t take long for her to see that he was nice to the rats. Maybe he would be nice to her too! So, carefully, Conny inched her way out of the shadows and towards him, squeaking quietly in the hopes that if he had some food spare, he’d give it to her.
