Essentially, Tinkerer carries tasks such as implementing failsafe mechanisms in the Syndicate's tech and equipment, reporting their whereabouts and plans
He adheres to the disorder (he initially doesn't know) in order to calm Otto's nerves in hopes that he could see reason
Instead, it feeds into the constant suspicions and accusations that will eventually push the group away when Otto does start to try and care about them.
