About last night - the stunning 2003 Andrew Geoffrey Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mountain District Napa Valley - a blend of 90% Cabernet with percentage of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc rounding things out. 2003 was not a typical vintage in Napa with being one of the last challenging alongside 2011 for wine makers due to ripening issues. This example is at a nice stage and ready to go with notes of sweet cassis, black olive and aromatic hints of the signature Diamond Mountain volcanic terroir. The experience is so smooth, so integrated and finished for an eternity. Only wished this wasn’t the last bottle!
