This sculpture in the Classical style depicts Diana, the Roman goddess of nature, forests and the hunt, armed with her traditional attributes — a bow and an arrow which she is delicately removing from the quiver. The forward thrust of her body conveys a sense of vitality. Álvarez Cubero executed the sculpture in Rome, and shortly before his death sold it to Ferdinand VII.
