@maysanatomypodcast on #diaphragmatic #breathing ・・・#repost For our wellness tip of the week we are going to talk about…DIAPHRAGMATIC BREATHING✨ . Diaphragmatic breathing is a type of a breathing exercise that helps strengthen your diaphragm, an important muscle that helps you breathe. It has a number of benefits that affect your entire body as this style of breathing is the basis for almost all meditation and relation techniques. . Below are a list of benefits of diaphragmatic breathing: 💨It helps you relax, lowering the harmful effects of the stress hormone cortisol on your body. 💨Can help you lower heart rate. 💨Helps lower blood pressure. 💨Can help you cope with PTSD, anxiety, and depression. 💨Improves core muscle stability. ...and much much more... . So how is it done? 1️⃣Sit in a comfortable position or lie flat on the floor, your bed, or another comfortable, flat surface. 2️⃣Relax your shoulders. 3️⃣Put a hand on your chest and a hand on your stomach. 4️⃣Breathe in through your nose for about two seconds (you should experience the air moving through your nostrils into your abdomen, making your stomach expand). During this type of breathing, make sure your stomach is moving outward while your chest remains still. 5️⃣Purse your lips, press gently on your stomach, and exhale slowly for about two seconds. 6️⃣Repeat these steps several times. . Diaphragmatic breathing may also help relieve some of your symptoms in the case of COPD or other conditions related to your autonomic nervous system. As always, its best to get a medical professional’s opinion to see if it’s worth your time or if it will have any drawbacks. . Just keep breathing...stay well 🌱 #salamati https://www.instagram.com/p/CJJGzXFnkh4/?igshid=ufeo8f9dsxfb
Why is belly breathing better than chest breathing?
The boys decided to try my #diaphragmatic #breathwork and recovery with maximal output exercises with recovery between 10 to 20 seconds while practicing cognitiveawareness during rest on a #bosuball . This past year working with high intensity front line Law Enforcement and soldiers has allowed me to really fine tune that initial impact on the nervous system during initial engagement . In this case I am building #supersoldiers of #bjj If it works for the good guys performance under high stress situations it will make a #bjjmatch feel like a sweet walk in the park. #ontariotopteambrazilianjiujitsuandmuaythai #globalmartialartsacademy #strengthandconditioning #bjjlifestyle #bjjfighter #antiterror #specialentryteam #specialforces #autonomicnervoussystem #sympatheticnervoussystem #parasympatheticnervoussystem #higharousalstate #lowarousalstate (at Global Martial Arts Academy) https://www.instagram.com/p/BzS4LFplLtO/?igshid=1kpc27rv1gi4w
