What do you mean you remember a boy from FIRST GRADE and he got you a job because of it.
I'm not going to be surprised when he turns out to have dark hair and....WHY are they sitting with their legs spread for a HS basketball team photo in 1937 Ephrata, PA!??!?
Brown hair, brown eyes, 5' 11"
You know if this guy is described as handsome he's got to have dark hair and be close to 6', right?
RIGHT. Except his name isn't Rick? He's on the wrestling team. And he is studying economics like Dick and...JFC you can not make this up. If you aren't researching WW2 through an understanding of Dick Winter's taste in men you are missing out.
Every time I open a book about Winters I find another name of a boy.
I'm guessing this is him since he ends up 6' tall, has brown hair and blue eyes and lives 1 minute away from Aunt Lottie's house in Ephrata. Welcome to the club, Harvey Clifford Fassnacht.
Even forms a Winters Triangle between your house, Aunt Lottie's, and the Winter's Memorial Monument.
12 year old Dick Winters taking a hike to Ephrata to grandma's house with the neighbor kid.
And in case you know Dick's taste in men, you're not going to be surprised to find out John Abel, Jr. was a dark haired boy with a widows peak and hazel eyes. He went to school with Dick and graduated Lancaster High in 1938.
Some photos of Trent and Frank
Eugene Jackson's sister reached out to Dick to ask what happened to her brother. He gives her dates and contact information for Bain and Malarkey and offers to stop by and talk with her:
With a friend. From high school.
You know Roy's going to have dark hair...right? Bonus is he went to Franklin and Marshall. And played football. Great high school quote too.
