@dickensir - she's one of the sweetest people in the fandom, I'm really glad that she's in it and that I found her because of it.
Me: Can this one be plain ol' bliss? Just a lil-
@dickensir : No.
It’s 2024. People are making posts to celebrate “this movie that came out 4 years ago, my baby!! I can’t believe this! This movie helped me meet so many talented and amazing people, love you all!!” with the millionth gifset of the Joe x Nicky kiss. You’re not a true fan if you can’t quote Ariosto by heart and everybody agrees Clorinda and Tancredi are the cheap version of Joe and Nicky. There are so many fics on ao3, at least thirty coffee aus, one particular fic is basically second canon. Most of the fics are set in different time periods, but there’s a resurgence of wild aus where Nicky and Joe hate each other until the last chapter (these fics are at least 55k words).
There’s a fanon explanation about that time in Malta that’s so convincing that half of the fandom forgets it’s not canon. The sequel is coming and the leaked behind the scenes pictures are everywhere. One photo of Marwan dressed in something that maybe, maybe, looks like something Joe could wear sent the fandom in hysterics. The old guard tag was trending on tumblr for 4 days straight.
The Qynh and Andy tag is active but not as much as the Joe and Nicky one . Some fan managed to create a timeline of every historical event where the group was involved and the old guard fandom is basically a bunch of people staying up all night to research about different time periods, research that show much more effort than any paper ever written for school on the same subject. Booker is declared not straight. One time Marinelli said something about Nicolò in an interview for an obscure Italian magazine and what he said is the current title of at least 40 different blogs.
Four years from now, someone reblogs this post and I am right.
