day 28: what job would ur fave character have if not the job in the movie

OK WELL OBVIOUSLY IM GONNA DO LIKE ALL OF THEM

Eames: i believe in stage actor or painter eames. He would be successful in both career paths if he chooses to take them I think!!! Not like world famous in both but well renowned in the art world and if youre a nerd in that niche youd know who he is.

Arthur: ……….ok he would thrive in an office setting. like corporate ladder bullshit. every fic set in “not dreamshare” puts him as something like a lawyer or an accountant or someone in an architecture firm that doesnt do designing. AND HED BE GOOD AT IT (it = overworking and selling ones soul to captialism)

Ariadne: i mean like. architect. but also maybe… game designer. specifically the environment. creating worlds that can’t exist, shouldn’t exist… would clearly appeal to her!

Yusuf: well. i mean. chemist. pharmacist. I feel like if he had a job that wasnt dreamshare it would just be the same except he never got into somnacin development. I also think he never STARTED w somnacin, like started out in the world of drugs and crime, sure, but he wouldnt have branched out to somnacin until later… in my head dreamshare is something that’s pretty Secret especially during the events of Inception. Like does everyone important vaguely know of it? Yeah it’s the newest top secret army information gathering technique. Do many in the criminal circles vaguely know of it? Yeah especially if youre like. Deep into crime. Academics know if enlisted by militaries. What im saying is if youre connected enough you know what it is, but the average person still thinks sharing dreams is sci fi.

Dom and Mal Cobb: I’m putting them together cuz they would be coworkers: professors at the same university!!! Probably both architects imo

Robert Fischer: I still want him to be rich and an heir to something cuz that’s like his whole character… so maybe this is what he would do after Inception. I feel like he would be happy if he faded into obscurity and found a loving community in a small village somewhere. Maybe he owns a small, local toy store and smiles at all the kids holding hands with their fathers

Saito: THIS ONE IS HARD!!! because saito has all the perfect traits for the job he has i cant imagine him working anywhere else. Definitely not an office drone he would never stay there. I feel like with robert he would be his own boss. Maybe he’d own a cafe or a restaurant. OH HED BE A CHEF. HE WOULD BE A GREAT CELEBRITY CHEF. MICHELIN STARS GALORE. Day 12 of Inception 30 Day Challenge

12. What style of dance does each character prefer? 

Ariadne is a metalhead. She likes headbanging and is one those tiny fierce women in moshpits that you worry about because they are completely fearless and are in the thick of it with people twice their size.

Arthur and Mal like ballroom dances. They are an unstoppable force. Dom tried to keep up with them but he’s only allowed to cut in every once in a while because Mal loves him.

Saito can do practically any dance that has ever been danced at a formal event. He’s really good at leading and making even inexperienced partners have fun and feel good about themselves.

Eames is not much of a dancer. He’s perfectly capable in dreams but he’s a little stiff irl. He likes dancing with Arthur and getting a little handsy but it’s not something he’d go out of his way to do otherwise.

Yusuf does swing and is insanely good at it. It’s his hidden talent. For someone who’s not usually high energy he really lets loose when he’s dancing.

Robert is one of those stressed out businessmen who go crazy to techno. When he goes out on a Friday Night, he doesn’t come home until noon the next day.

Inception as incorrect quotes (part II) (part I)

A pre-canon headcanon.

Not my headcanon originally, but I absolutely believe that Arthur is protecting Cobb as a promise to Mal before she died.

JGL's delivery on this:

ARIADNE What was she like in real life? ARTHUR (quiet) She was lovely.

It just hits me every time. Between that, Mal knowing Arthur's artistic taste and Cobb asking Arthur to send his regards to whoever Arthur's visiting in the States (presumably Arthur's family, which suggests he's met them) - I think there's a deep relationship with the Cobbs as a unit than just "guy we work with".

But nevertheless, Cobb's still "Cobb" and not "Dom" to Arthur. They have a comfortable rapport (Arthur getting him back on track after Cobb starts talking about intestinal worms, Cobb joking about him getting shot in the leg) and work well together. But at the same time, after Saito is shot, the way Cobb turns on Arthur and immediately blames him seems really... coworker-y, rather than between two friends working to get Cobb back to his family. Which has always struck me as really weird, the way Cobb immediately cracks that relationship with Arthur apart.

Meanwhile, Arthur only starts getting emotional and personal once the Limbo thing comes up, then immediately brings up Cobb's time there and Mal:

ARTHUR ...anyone sharing the dream who's been trapped [in Limbo] before. Which, in our case, is just you.

ARTHUR "Done it before." What, with Mal? Because that worked so good?

But I don't think Mal & Arthur were ever romantic, because Cobb would be way way weirder about Arthur if it was. Hell, I'd even accept it as evidence towards Arthur being gay, because I think Cobb's in a place where he'd be extremely weird about a man who is attracted to women having had a close emotional relationship with his wife (again, she knows what the inside of his mind looks like!), even if that relationship was entirely platonic. So why else would it be safe for Arthur to say she was "lovely"? Plus Mal brings up Arthur's taste in art and interior design to Cobb twice. It does make the Ariadne kiss weirder, but we're already used to explaining that one away...

Bonus: due to this level of familiarity with the Cobbs, Arthur is absolutely on "Uncle Arthur" terms with Philippa and James.

I ADORE the trope where Eames and Cobb are at odds and it all boils down to Arthur. The former worrying about Arthur’s unwavering loyalty to the latter (loyalty that is often exploited), and the latter’s concern that the former is not good enough for Arthur. Oh the way these two are antagonistic towards each other (canonically, may I add) and the headcanon that it’s all out of protectiveness for their darling boy…mm chef’s fucking kiss
