Liza sat cross-legged on the floor, trying to sort out the papers she’d picked up as Tony apologized and came to sit beside her. He looked terrible-- like he hadn’t slept in days. Listening to him try and figure this out was heartwrenching; how was she supposed to help him? Closure was one thing, but finding out the instrument of his parent’s death had been someone his father had known? Jesus... she couldn’t imagine--
Setting the papers aside, she reached out and put a hand on his arm as he took one of hers in his other. “Tony-- when was the last time you ate? Hell-- when was the last time you slept?” Liza asked, taking a deep breath and realizing that she’d have to be strong for him, be steadfast where he couldn’t. “I know you want to go after those people who hurt your parents-- but like this? Nothing will happen when you’re like this. You have to take care of yourself first; get some food and sleep, then you can start looking into who’s really responsible.”
Leaning closer, she pressed a kiss to his cheek, brushing his messy hair back from his forehead. “Come on-- I’ll warm up some leftovers, yeah?”
