I like to imagine that outside of canon (like, a complete AU) the XC1 cast could be a family, starring:
• Riki and Dunban as queer-platonic co-parents. They have their own lives and romantic relationships(only Riki for this last one) but parenting these kids is their shared joy.
• Melia and Sharla as inseparable. Melia is the eldest. Sharla isn't a sibling, more like a family friend/cousin who stays over enough that the lines are blurred-to-non-existent
• Fiora, Shulk, and Reyn as the trouble making trio. They're bad enough on their own or in select pairs–wait till you see them together.
• Alvis is the boy-next-door that Shulk is absolutely smitten with. Shulk thinks he's doing great keeping it secret; no one is impressed. He has two younger siblings, but they don't interact with the rest as much as Alvis does.
• Galea and Klaus are the mother and father (respectively) to Alvis + his two siblings. Dunban really doesn't like Klaus (Shulk finds Klaus' designs fascinating). Fiora absolutely adores Galea (who doesn't?)
• Dickson is the rando next-door who just,,, idk he seems to have anything and everything anyone could need. Him and Dunban go way back though.
Dunban and Riki are 30-40ish, the kids are 7-10ish, and Galea and Klaus are just breaking 30. No one knows how old Dickson is. Dunban won't answer when asked.
