an awesome part of that post is the assumption by detractors that the ukrainian state seems to only suffer "a nazi problem", as if extreme nationalism does not perforate and legitimize the entire state of ukraine's entire existence, a state which sustains itself from western backed genocide. i think the issue is much more substantial than that actually!
this is the key context missing from most naive analysis of zelenskys nazi photoshoots. and the reason i posted it at all was to *add* it to the generally well-documented pool of similar instances, not some kind of novel information or a gotcha like some notes are treating it as... it is so bad that even the EU and yankee based news outlets, who have been running the publicity campaign for ukrainian nationalists for the last nearly 4 years, cannot put a positive spin on it.
"other places have nazis too" is the most common retort, suggesting we're judging ukraine unfairly by only looking at the most extremist of them. but this is not a case of extremists being fringe and unpopular. most insipid people you meet from russia will be yankee bootlicker liberals, while most insipid people from ukraine will be openly calling for the supremacy of their race and the complete extermination of russian-speaking minorities
