One super sad thing I just realized about Higurashi is that Satoko’s character arc didn’t stick; it literally didn’t. She only realized that there’s strength in being honest and asking for help in a world where she and her friends were immediately killed afterwards. Her uncle didn’t show up in the “golden ending”, so when she went to St. Lucia’s, she bottled up all her true feelings and frustrations until everything went to hell in a hand basket (again).
