“I just like Harry Potter, I don’t support her though.” Yes. Yes you do. By watching the movies, reading the books, writing fan fiction, making fanart, memes etc, you are supporting her. Support doesn’t just mean personally condoning someone’s actions. You’re literally funding and perpetuating them.
i don’t want to generalise or erase the fact that everything in politics has nuance and that it’s very rarely just black and white, left vs right, but i think a lot of people on here critique or argue with other leftists because they’re accessible when really their anger is directed towards the right wing. like it’s easier to infight than tackle the bigger problem.
i’m sure someone can structure and articulate this point better but i’ve just been thinking about it for a little bit :’)
