the height of impossibility to deal with a customer who is right...
hang up on them.
Yup. That’s what I have just experienced I Have made an order to a new Chinese take away and got ‘salt and pepper’ chips.. I had literally three of them before I felt my mouth on fire. i drank water over and over again to quench the burning. It barely worked. I do not like spicy food so I tend to avoid anything marked as spicy in takeaways menus. This one had no indications whatsoever of being that spicy. And to me, salt and pepper, is just it. A bit of salt and black pepper.
Moreover, when I rang them they started to insult me and defend their position by saying that Chinese ‘salt and pepper’ chips are hot. When I informed them that hey were not the first Chinese takeaway I ordered food from and had never any issues with the food being so hot as to burnt my palate they decided to turn the tables and to blame me.
For ordering.
Their food.
Which they did not mark as hot.
And then... they hang up on me.
...
I rang them back. I asked if they did just that. They said yes.
I explained to them that their so-called ‘poor English’ was quite enough to understand me. Also, no takeaway or a self respected restaurant would hang up on a customer. Ever.
The solution they proposed to me, was to come to their place to pick up a bag of chips done to my requirements, is less than... ridiculous.
I’ll leave it at that.
not happy bunny tonight. Not at all.
