The Birth
When though in the darkest night the young girl gave birth to the child there were but two beasts watching her which sole stood around the crib there it was a burro and an ox the baby bare, no shoes, no socks, and freezing between his parents two the beasts now wondered what to do so spoke the ox: Have this my horn so safe you are from day you’re born so spoke the burro: Take my tail as to defend yourself; don’t wail so thanked the girl, and so the child took horns and tails and then a wild dog barked the child to peace and sleep and thus the devil came to be.
